I am running the latest software, Sonoma 14.3.1 on my Mac Mini and the Firefox browser 123.0.1 With the last couple of versions of Firefox , after selecting About Firefox, I received the error message "Failed to check for updates" This happened a few times. I was able to manually update to the newer versions. How can I rectify the situation. My Firefox preferences under the General Heading has check for updates selected.

The title describes the problem I'm facing. I don't really use other sites that have videos other than Youtube. But I notice that the videos freeze quite often and audio just continues to play. The videos then unfreeze and skip multiple frames. I've noticed clearing browser cache seems to help but it doesn't help for longer than a 2 min video at best. At worst, it doesn't affect it at all.

Ever since I installed Firefox 123.0, when I execute a search on Yahoo.com, Firefox automatically opens up a new window or tab (depending upon how you have it set up in settings) when it didn't before. When I try this with Firefox using Google.com to search, it does NOT open up a new window/tab. But when I try it with Yahoo.com when using Google Chrome, it does NOT open up a new tab. So it would appear that the behavior is being caused by something in Firefox.

I tried making various changes in settings and Firefox about:config that were recommended in previous questions here, but they did not alter the behavior. I would like the behavior to return to simply performing the search within the same window (I can always scroll back to get the original page). Can anyone help?

You have made it IMPOSSIBLE to remove the GOOGLE search engine, by graying out the "Remove" button when the "GOOGLE" search engine is highlighted in the "Search Shortcuts" of the "Search" page of "Settings"!!! THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE!!!!!!!!!!!! IF YOU REFUSE TO FIX THIS, THEN TELL ME HOW TO INSTALL LAST YEAR'S EDITION OF FIREFOX!!!!!

I want to convert a pdf file that I mistakenly had to generate when I deleted the original file. I want to convert the pdf sheet back to a Word doc so I can edit it.

To identify myself I had to scan a qr code on a website using my phone. This used to work in firefox but it doesn't anymore. It still works in edge. I'm using firefox 119.0.1 x64 on windows 11 home 22H2. How can I fix this?

Since about one year I am unable to use Japanese input only in Firefox. When I try to switch with fcitx and control+space, nothing happens. However, fcitx-mocz works everywhere else on my computer (i.e. terminal, thunderbird, other browsers, etc.). Furthermore, I uninstalled fcitx and everything associated with it and reinstalled it according to this thread: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1367181 (just with mocz for Japanese). This also didn't change anything. Any help is appreciated! I'm a game developer working on my first WebGL game from Unity. For the past day I've been banging my head around getting controllers to work, only to discover the issue is with Firefox - my build works fine in Edge and Chrome.

What's the situation with Firefox WebGL support? Is this likely to be fixed at any point or should I inform users Firefox doesn't work (and be pressured onto using Chrome or something else myself despite wanting to use Firefox?)
