I've been using Firefox for so many years I don't use any other browser unless a site doesn't work,then I use 'Opera' (very infrequent). I updated Firefox to v154.0 and now searching does not work properly.

I used to be able to enter a question into the bar/box where one would normally view any given URL, select return, and Firefox would bring up Yahoo! search results.

With this update, that doesn't work. When I select return the URL that had been in the space just reappears. If I visit the Yahoo! main page and try to use the search box with the magnifying/eye-glass, it launches a blank tab.

I'm forced to use the AI icon to get a search result. I do NOT want to use that feature.

Also, with Firefox 154.0 I cannot remove other search engines. With every update I remove Google, Bing, Duck-Duck-Go, Wiki, Amazon, etc. because I ONLY want one search engine, Yahoo!

I checked the Yahoo!Search Extension and made sure all the "allow" buttons needed were selected.

I want to remove the other search engines from the Settings tab, and I would like to have the same behavior prior to the update: simply type my question or text into the main html bar/box and select return, and get results.

I see that other had an issue starting with version 142 or so that was similar, but I've not had this issue until two days ago.

Any help is appreciated. And yes I delete my cache etc. regularly. I'm on Mac OS 15.7.7 and again, it has never been a problem until updating Firefox to v154.

Added by FF - poor move on FF part. Unlike others, can't be removed any of the "traditiona" about: methods.

Need to have it go - we DO NOT want this used here.

I am still getting behavior, after updating to 154.0.1 (64-bit) today, where I'll do a search in the address bar (which is set to have Yahoo Search as my homepage and default browser), and simply nothing happens. I do not know what is going on. This is now the second update that has this erroneous behavior. It doesn't matter if I turn on or off the associated Yahoo Search extension, whether I go through Yahoo's own address bar or my own on the homepage, etc. It simply doesn't regularly work, anymore.

The browser won't allow me to add DuckDuckGo's No AI search to the browser; see attached image.

This isn't a question: this is an issue with the Firefox browser that needs to be fixed ASAP.

I use Firefox as my browser and have used Yahoo as my home page and browser for decades. Starting a few days ago, every time I type in the Yahoo search bar I get a Google search page result. I opened Bing and tried to search on their page and got the same result - Google. This is driving me crazy. I want my old Yahoo search back. I am at a loss as to how to fix this. I have looked at the Firefox settings and, of course, Yahoo is no longer listed. A shame. I don't know what to do at this point. Maybe the answer is to get rid of Firefox, but it has worked well for me for a long time. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks.

I downloaded and installed Firefox. I've set up an account. But nowhere does it show me, or tell me, how to "open" Firefox and start browsing. There is no "search bar/window", just the address window at the top. I'm getting close to deleting the whole thing because it is needlessly frustrating.

Hello there, I use Firefox on Linux and on my Iphone. On the Iphone, when I type in asomething in the search bar, on the bottom of the app I can select with one click, which search engine to use. On firefox desktop, this needs more clicks and I would find it helpful, to have the engines shown next to the text and be reachable with one click. Thank you for this great browser!

I’m feeling very … filtered by google or safari search engines and haven’t done any research into other search engine options, though I’ve heard other people mention other search engines that are less filtered that I didn’t remember the name of. I hadn’t even really thought of this before but someone recently talked about how all the information is out there on the Internet (which I knew, Duhr 😂) but like a pair of craftily sculpted goggles, each device, OS, search engine simply filters the results I have access to and yet, I still search using Chrome. Wtf? Can you help me? Help me snap out of my bubble?! 😂 I keep falling asleep and forgetting to find a way to be more safe (as I know I’ve been with you on my laptop for yeeears) and also be “allowed” to have access to more info in the big wide world on the Internets? 😜 Do you guys have a search engine? And/or do you guys know the direction to point me in to become a more aware and present human being on the internet who remains safe from all the bs and is also not filtered down into a granule of human pellet feed that they can dissolve into lusch and control, limit, feed off of for profit, leaving me in a vulnerable position to blackmail or destroy? LMAO! 🤣 🥹😳 Really though… I trust Firefox and have used this browser for years. For years now though, I’ve been only on my iPhone and forgot about Firefox until just now because I just “went with this”, brainlessly, on my iPhone and there are certain options one is fed when adopting the iPhone (and Firefox is definitely _not_ one of them!). Would you, could you please expand my horizons, safely with you guys? Or whatever you recommend, please? I’d be so grateful for any pointers, help, info, education that you can offer me! None of the topics seemed to match my issue so I selected "Browse".

In FF 153.0.1 on W11 64-bit, after Firefox updated to the latest version my Alt+D does not work. Ctrl+L still works. In Incongnito, Alt+D DOES work. However, in regular browsing it does not work, even after I have disabled all of my extensions. I don't know why it's not working or what I could do from my end to try to get it working.

As a loyal and long time user of Firefox [since 1998 yes 1998 ,,,] if you or i cant remove google from my browser , i might have to find a replacement, that will allow me to remove this nonsense , i await your response ATB BlackSam
