I have a local file I wish to view in firefox without starting a HTTP server (it's only docs for a crate I'm building) however Firefox is unable to open the file despite the file existing and having correct permissions. The file was in a separate mount (disk) to where Ffox is installed so I copied to to /tmp/ to remove that as a variable but still no joy..

Am I missing some new setting which allows local file browsing using the good old 'file:///' protocol?

Hello, Randomly but frequently enough to be annoying, Firefox freezes my entire laptop. I have windows 11. It freezes so badly that I have to hold down the on/off button until it goes off. I looked it up outside of Firefox help and, per suggestions, turned off the hardware accelerator. That seemed to work for a little while but now it's happening again with greater frequency. There doesn't seem to be any exact situation that causes it which makes it very hard to diagnose. But it's enough that I'm thinking of looking for another browser so any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Hello! See the screenshot please: so, I downloaded à pay-bill, with Firefox (under ubuntu), in private navigation, and I get the file with a padlock-symbol at the end. What means that? What means that for me (on my computer), what means that for à friend, when I sent him the pdt-file (can he open it?). Nota: I understood that I can choose between "delete downloads when closing the privat window" or not. And I choosed not to delete them (but there appears this padlock-symbol). Thanks for your help! Hi, Since three or four months, whenever I log into Outlook live, either on Mac or Windows PC, I get a security warning saying that the information will not be secure (Please see attachment.) When I log into the same account, from Edge for example, I do not get the warning popup. I really enjoy using Firefox and would love to continue but this case is worrying me a bit. Any idea to help? Well being an OAP I needed new laptop. Always used Firefox browser but finding it difficult to get restarted. Had to opt out of window s to even download. Apparently I can transmit(?) my existing passwords etc from one laptop to another is this correct? Only basic computer knowledge but trying hard !! Karen x

In Firefox, I have audio and video autoplay blocked globally, and added an exception for one particular website (Discord). However, Discord now only autoplays videos once, but doesn't loop them as it should (they implemented GIFs as videos, but now they don't loop).

Of course this could be interpreted as a bug in Discord's web client. However, there shouldn't be a difference between a website that got an exception and autoplay being globally allowed. Therefore i suspect that there is a bug in firefox where some property, state, or hint is set differently depending on whether a page has been added to exceptions or autoplay is allowed globally.

Is there anything i can do to work around this? I really want an autoplay exception to actually work as expected (the website doesn't need to know that it's special)

While running Firefox on MacBookAir with macOS 15.7.2 to browse simple websites I keep getting the below warning message. I may have 2 or 3 other apps open (like Apple Mail, MS-Word, Preview). "Heavy memory usage You're running out of memory and your Mac may become noticeably slower. Consider quitting some applications. Firefox 2,48 GB" So I quit Firefox to re-open again and continue my work. Does somebody has an hint where this message can come from ? Any settings to change on my MAC ? Thanks for helping

I use LastPass and I cannot open any login information from the vault. I click on "Launch" (picture uploaded) and nothing happens. If I have a site open I can auto-fill the Username/Password. Some of the sites are tailored to a specific page - I rely on this. It works in Edge and Chrome. It did work before today in Firefox (can't say when specifically). Firefox password management disabled.

When I click on a link in emails to open in browser if email has display problems, it opens a blank webpage and a small window that I clicked on OK reappears with Firefox as my default browser. See attached screenshot. If I select Edge to open the email, it works fine.

I'm unable to print Yahoo emails via Firefox 146.0.1. I receive a 403 forbidden error. Listed below is the error:

Just FYI, I can go into the Chrome browser and print without issue.

Every time I close and reopen the browser (and then check the Process Manager), all my pinned tabs are there and taking 20-30 megabytes each while I didn't click on them and they're supposed to be unloaded after startup

None of the unpinned tabs are in the Process Manager

How do i stop this?

Please create a new version of the browser app that supports the ability to use FileSystemAPI on directories, this is essential for working with a BeatBuddy project and SD cards that are saved on my computer using the online editor. Regards, Guy James

My selected topic "settings" actually does not really describe my tabs problem. Even though I followed instructions for entering "about:unloads" the expected webpage did not appear. All I got was the same instructions and not a page that included the table and its unload button that was said to be above it. When I select the New Page tab and right click and then select three tabs, the right-click menu only shows the option to "close three tabs." There is not an option to unload three tabs. Yikes! And when I select one tab and click on the one option to unload one tab, the selected tab does not unload. The tab does not unload. The tab does not unload. It is still there. (???) This is very frustrating! I can only close tabs. So far I can only temporarily close them. Could the problem be that I am still using Windows 10? Please advise. Thanks for reading about my problem of not being able to unload my unwanted tabs.
