There is no "Check for Updates in Settings > Updates, nor is there "Allow Firefox to"

So I cannot change any Update settings. ATM Firefox (now version 116) updates automatically and some tabs (youtube) stop working without any indication why. I would like to disable automatic updates but I can't. (AFAIK)

On what port does the firefox extension update on does it use port 21? I need the extensions to be auto updating like set and forget knowing that my firewall is not blocking the required port

recent upgrade to 116 causes issue of fast timeouts, Reddit, Youtube will load for a few seconds then stop, refresh, restart don't help. Running in troubleshooting mode now so I can post. I'll narrow down which addon is at issue

I deleted the email address associated with this account a while back and wish to delete the firefox account too but as I have no access to the email I cannot verify my account to delete it. Is there a support line/email which I can contact?

When I check for FireFox updates, the message states "Firefox is up to date" or similar. However, the currently installed browser version is 68.11.0esr. I've seen higher version numbers so, I don't think this is correct. I've read many help items, FAQ's, etc, including those by Firefox, and yet can not determine the process to remove the current browser version and install a later version.

Ubuntu 22... Firefox was frozen, i closed it. couldnt open it again. Restarted pc.. kys.db last edited by firefox 1 week ago. I lost all my passwords, bookmarks, places... Files are changed 1 week ago.. No copies on mozilla folder... No fucking nothins... There is no copy of them, i changed it 3 days ago and Fx crashed...

Some companies gonna ask me for my personal id, finger print and photos.... Are you fucking serios? Where are my passwords?

after porting my SSD Arch installation from my old Laptop to a desktop PC, i have a really long startup time (about 30s-45s) for the first time after booting my PC. This problem doesn't occur with any other programs. The subsequent openings of firefox happen instant.

Have tried using "refresh" functionality to clean up firefox so my about:config is as clean as it gets, didn't help. Have tried starting it with "firefox --no-remote", didn't help. Have tried starting it with "firefox --safe-mode", didn't help. Have tried starting it with a completely fresh profile, didn't help. Tried purging it from the system and reinstalling it, didn't help. Same problem when I start it normally via dmenu/rofi.

I don't get any stdout log on any of these methods of starting.

I also don't know where to look for helpful log files.

Any help or hints on where to trace this fault are much appreciated.

With a recent update of Firefox Developer Edition to version 117.0b9 i keep getting extremely annoying popups on all sites, asking me if I want to translate stuff.

I don't want to store unnecessary settings in my browser, related to exceptions to websites/languages that I want vs. does not want to translate.

I want to completely disable translations, globally. Forever. Two questions:

- Why there is no "disable translations globally" checkbox in the newly added popup? - Is there an about:config hack to do disable translations globally, for all languages, for all websites, and forever?

Dear, I always have a lot of tabs opened and I guess I had one too many opened yesterday. Already I had to recover my settings after a crash the day before. So I had the crash and restarted the pc yesterday evening. All my tabs were gone, so I shut down the pc and started up again this morning and still no sign of restart or nothing of my tabs, history, all my Linux worksheets were completely empty accept for this page... I went to settings to restart the previous settings but it always does that automatically, and it only started the one I was in this morning (the empty one) I tried for a crash rapport but could not find one. How do I get everything back, please ?! I need to get the tabs back before this previous session! Please help... Where can I find them? What can I do? I can't have lost them all ... I will go nuts .. Please help me! My system is a Linux Mint 21.0 version, I think Thank you so much! Nadine

Some extensions NEED buttons -- adblock, tinyurl, etc. Some extensions provide a 'pin to *bar' switch. Some do it automatically. SOME, however, seem incapable of attaching their button in the Nightly/linux version (although they work fine in FF82/linux). I especially want to be able to use the 'Remove cookies' button which works ONLY on the current page and which is absolutely useless without a button. I haven't checked with the author(s) yet, but I will.

Is this just an oversight or was this function removed deliberately?

Firefox seems to crash repeatedly and generates no crash reports, just freezes up my pc. It works in troubleshooting mode but even after refreshing, the problem persists. Surprisingly, it will consistently crash if I go to `about:support` (except in troubleshooting mode). Any help would be appreciated!

The logins that I put manually synchronize with the account between the devices, however, the passwords that i imported from chrome through the .csv file do not sync.

Whenever you start typing a certain website name in the address bar, Firefox suggests and option to auto-fill the address based on what you've typed. My issue with that is that auto-fill keeps suggesting the address that I DON'T want it to. Specifically, I want "ya" to auto-fill to "ya.ru", instead it keeps suggesting "yandex.com.ge". Now, I have tried deleting all the history of ever going to "yandex.com.ge" as well as just ignoring the issue and typing out the full "ya.ru" by myself and giving Firefox some time to catch onto this, however after a couple of weeks nothing's changed. What's interesting is that when I type "ya" in the address bar, Firefox shows the following (in order): the wrong auto-fill suggestion ("yandex.com.ge"), some search suggestions (yahoo, yandex, yahoo mail, etc), then after the search suggestions there is a separator that says "Firefox suggests" and what do you think, the CORRECT auto-fill that I want is first right in there - "ya.ru". So Firefox actually knows that I want it, since it's the first thing in "Firefox suggests", but why can I not get it as a default auto-fill suggestion?

Hi, The DM has an annoying popup that only appears on the sports page ( which is basically the only page I actually read, the rest of the comic I just skim ). I've searched the web for a solution but to no avail, hence my asking here. I have the popup blocker ticked, but this annoyance just keeps on.
