I run normal firefox on linux. Fully up-to-date. Every time I quit the app, it reverts to a version of my profile from a month ago, and loads all the tabs I had open then, and then receives all the tabs that I sent to the device in the interim (~1 month). As I speak, it just caught the 60 or 70 tabs in this window.

I tried changing the name of my profile folder to randomstring.defaultOLD and changed one of the backups to randomstring.default. This didn't change the behavior. I'm still stuck in the loop. I saved my tabs with onetab, because firefox isn't remembering my session anymore. I thought it was something to do with updates, like it only loses its mind upon updates, but that's not true. It thinks it's updating firefox EVERY TIME, because the one time it's loading to 1 month ago it was updating, but I'm 100% sure there are no updates to firefox in my linux. It's just hallucinating.

The articles on restoring from backup are outdated. They say to use an html file. There is no html file. It's just folders for profiles, not html files. HELP!

when i use Chrome or edge to access yahoo email I can write & edit. when using Firefox browser; I cannot write & edit/highlight/change text colours etc before sending. tried deleteing & re-installing Firefox . please help. Driving me crazy rsvp

For the built-in VPN, I'm able to add websites to exclude either manually in the settings (Built-in VPN > Manage website settings) or from the webpage itself using the VPN icon. However, even when I save, if I close and re-open Firefox, the list is cleared and I have to re-add everything.

Is this normal or is there some other setting I'm missing?

The browser has become very annoying to use and it keeps using a popup telling me to update! the problem is not the update in its self but when I allow it to do the update I can never find where it downloaded it to so I am plagued with this constant pop-up, I used to like Firefox but recently they got barred from Facebook messenger video calls.

When using Firefox 154.0.1 (MacOS) and VPN, my ISP provider seems to randomly change between my selected country (Canada) and current location (US).

Is this a known bug, or is there a setting that I need to tweak?

I've been a subscriber to the gocomics.com web site for some years now, and have had no trouble logging in from Linux. But with MacOS, the "enter" button is greyed out and not responsive to clicking on it. I can log in that case by hitting the Enter key. I've recently been working with FreeBSD, and with that OS, I cannot log in at all, and pausing Ghostery and Privacy Badger does nothing. All three systems are running Firefox 153. What's different about the FreeBSD version?

At first FF free vpn used the server (Spain, France ..) that I selected Since a couple of days it always uses Singapore server, no matter what I select I have already cleared the cachet, turn off and on the vpn, restarted my laptop .. still the same Any solution?

I opened Firefox this morning and all of my pinned shortcuts have disappeared. Shortcuts are enabled in the settings. I checked the browser.newtabpage.pinned pref on the about:config and all of my pinned shortcuts are not there

The Firefox built-in VPN option appeared for me about a week ago, maybe two; I don’t know whether it only just reached me in the rollout, or whether Firefox highlighted it because of the “more bandwidth” promotion. Either way, I activated it. But then, three days ago, I noticed that my browsing was no longer going through a VPN, and that the VPN settings had all disappeared from Firefox.

I’m in Australia. I’m signed into my Firefox account. I’ve tried signing out and back in; restarting this device; and doing as many steps from the Support article “Unable to find the built-in VPN in Firefox” as I could, given that it gives instructions for desktop Firefox, not Android. In particular, I removed one study—not the one named in the article, but a different one with “holdback” in the name (something like “long term holdback H1”).

I have Windows 11. I want to upload pictures to blogger but they will not upload. I have cleared my cache and turned off protections as suggested and they still will not upload.

My PC crashed and then upon opening up firefox it forced me to update firefox. Afterwards all windows and tabs disappeared but my browing history is still there. I tried the in-browser restoration but it is greyed out. I tried the session store backup profile data but has no 'previous' or 'back up' files, only 'restore' files that are empty and restore to no tabs or windows. What other ways are possible? It's weird my browsing history anf bookmarks weren't deleted at the same time.

After a recent Firefox update, all of my saved passwords disappeared.

I checked my Firefox profiles and found that the current `logins.json` and `logins-backup.json` files were newly created on August 30, 2026 and contain no passwords.

However, in the older profile data I still have:

• `logins.db` — approximately 480 KB, modified August 19, 2026
• `key4.db` — approximately 288 KB, modified August 18, 2026
• `signedInUser.json`
• `storage-sync-v2.sqlite`

I opened a COPY of `logins.db` using DB Browser for SQLite. It contains:

• 392 records in `loginsM`
• 5 records in `loginsL`

The records clearly contain my saved websites in the `origin` field.

The table columns are:

`_rowid_` `id` `origin` `httpRealm` `formActionOrigin` `usernameField` `passwordField` `timesUsed` `timeCreated` `timeLastUsed` `timePasswordChanged` `secFields` `guid`

The `secFields` values begin with:

`eyJhbGciOiJkaXIiLCJlbmMiOiJBMjU2R0NNIn0`

Unfortunately, after discovering that my passwords were missing, I also reset my Mozilla account password. I understand that this may have affected the server-side Sync data.

My main question is:

Since the 392 encrypted login records are still physically present in the local `logins.db`, is there a supported or technically safe way to recover/decrypt those records and restore them to Firefox?

I still have the older `key4.db` and have preserved copies of all of these files without modifying the originals.

I am currently also attempting Windows File Recovery to look for an older deleted `logins.json`, but I would especially appreciate guidance on whether the surviving `logins.db` can be used for recovery.

the login never completes and there are messages at the bottom of the screen that it is waiting for various sites like ips.navigatorixa mail.com if I wait Firefox eventually times out with site not responding

Hi,

I cannot open any files on my Google Drive from one email account. I've tried opening troubleshoot mode, signing out of all accounts, clearing cache... but nothing works. I don't really know what's causing the issue because my Google Drive works fine on Safari. I'm lowkey getting really annoyed because my drive hasn't been able to work for a week... This issue occurs for both windows and mac OS.

Поставил на комп новую виндовс(11ю если это важно), нахожусь в россии по этому до ступ к данному сайту только через dns сервера. Он у меня ни в мозиле не открывается ни в эйдже, пробовал куки чистить и отключать брендмауэр, не помогает.
