I am getting more & more frustrated and exasperated, as simple browsing has become tortuously slow, with many sites taking forever to load, or only partially load, or have to be refreshed a couple times, to finally get it to load. And videos constantly freezing up, despite lots of free RAM, and a very high-speed internet connection. I assumed whatever was causing this would've been addressed in the last update, or two, but no, it's only getting worse.

When I open Google Maps it doesn't show the normal icons for navigation on the map. It doesn't do anything when I have hardware acceleration enabled and I type something in the search bar. If I disable hardware acceleration it does a search, but in no way can I get it to show the place I want to see. It just shows the map of Rotterdam, where Google thinks I live based on my IP address.

It does work in Safari though, so it's a Firefox problem. I hope you can fix it. Google seems to give the FF team lots of problems.

So, first off, Firefox is my favorite browser. I love it a lot. I'm also a pretty big supporter of Free and Open-Source Software.

With that said, I was wondering when and if Firefox will fully support ICC V4 profiles and the PNG specification.

I noticed that ICC V4 is not enabled by default, but even after setting gfx.color_management.enablev4 to true and setting gfx.color_management.mode to 1, ICC V4 is still not working properly.

You can test this yourself here: https://littlecms.com/blog/2020/09/09/browser-check/

Also, I noticed that PNG images of large sizes won't display at all in Firefox, resulting in a broken image icon.

You can test this yourself here: https://www.jwz.org/blog/2018/07/png-antics/

These seem to work at least passably well in other browsers, but I don't want to use other browsers! Does anyone know if Mozilla will fix these sometime? I do know that Little CMS is open-source under the permissive MIT license, so maybe Firefox could use that to fix the ICC V4 problem, if that could help. I don't know if using the latest version of libpng will help the other problem, but I know it is under a rather permissive BSD-style license.

I'm using Firefox 90.0.2 in case anyone is wondering.

I upgraded to V90.0.2 and tried to install Pocket. The popup gave me an old email address that does not exist, so I changed it to my current email address, logged in, but then pocket said it needed to use my email address, but the old email address was in the box and there was no way to change my old email address.

I came here and logged in using my old email address, but I had updated the account so it had my new email address. I logged out and logged in with my new email address, and my settings were the same, with my new email address and my new alternate email address.

No where was my old email address listed for me to change or delete. I see no way to tell FF that email no longer exists. Confusing, I know.

I've updated to the latest MacOS Monterey beta and all gesture plugins are broken when used with the trackpad. This is not unique to Firefox, it also happens in Chrome.

If you try to make a two fingers gesture (right click) on the trackpad, it will start scrolling the page instead of registering as a right click and hold for the gesture to start, making gestures impossible to perform.

Does anyone know about a work around for this?

Apologies for re-posting, I asked about this issue before https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1323826, but it was archived without any response :(

In an answer to this question: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1318109#answer-1376159 cor-el warned that using OS authentication (for example, TouchID on a Mac) for passwords instead of a Primary Password is actually not really safe because it doesn't encrypt logins in logins.json and it would be possible to extract them by running: prompt("Logins",JSON.stringify(Services.logins.getAllLogins())); Now I am a bit confused because for storing Credit Cards the default is, of course, using OS authentication (I don't think there's an option to set a password instead). So I am wondering, is that safe, i.e., is the credit card information encrypted that I can retrieve with my TouchID (even without a Primary Password)?

And if so, would anybody be able to explain the differences between these two approaches and why the Firefox developers chose one for Logins/Passwords but the other for Credit Cards.
