firefox suddenly stopped showing any history or book marks. also no history. i've re downloaded, no change. all works well with chrome but i like firefox. and thoughts?

I rebooted my laptop to find that Firefox removed all of my data. I looked up for ways to fix this and then arrived at the conclusion that I could create a profile and set the folder to one of the profiles that weren't listed on Firefox. It seemed to save my history correctly and my saved downloads, but they all said that they were moved or missing. I checked the passwords and instead of the long list of passwords that I normally have, there were only a couple, and the passwords were also sometimes outdated. I cannot recover some of these passwords. I've tried checking the passwords in the other profiles that were listed in the profiles and nothing shows up. None of the cookies were saved either

a few days ago I received a message that i had an upgrade from Firefox. After that I can't find the bookmarks I had saved for paying bills as well as other important items.

Background is a little complex. We have been running Win 10 under the ESU, My wife had her box unintentionally do a Win 11 update. She then started a backup which then looked like it would take days, so she aborted it after a while and ran the procedure to revert to Win 10, which then completed successfully. I think she then rebooted and opened Firefox and all her prior windows were there and working, After a while they got slower and slower, so she closed Firefox, might have rebooted and restarted Firefox. She now has 37 windows that are all completely blank. There is a New Tab tab and now URL in any window,

Is there any way that would likely recover all those open windows? Or, at least the URLs of all the tabs?

Bonjour, Je vous contacte par rapport a firefox. Mon problème étant que la dernière version de firefox sur mon ordinateur ne fonctionnait plus du tout. J'ai du désinstaller l'ancienne application et installer la nouvelle. Mais j'ai tout perdu, y compris mes mots de passes, mes marques-pages, etc... Pouvez-vous m'aider s'il vous plait, c'est urgent ? Help me download a new Firefox app and show me how to find my former apps. I clicked on Profiles and my previous app came up. Now how do i save it into a new app/or save it?

All of a sudden my bookmarks and history have disappeared and I cannot add new bookmarks. I have researched this and tried everything I could find to fix - namely restarting FF, restarting the PC, renaming places.sqlite, using task manger to locate which app is locking the file. I also used the Places Database to Verify Integrity and here are the results: Task: checkIntegrity - Unable to fix corruption, places.sqlite will be replaced on next startup > Task: checkCoherence - The task queue was cleared by an error in another task. > Task: expire - The task queue was cleared by an error in another task. > Task: vacuum - The task queue was cleared by an error in another task. > Task: stats - The task queue was cleared by an error in another task. > Task: _refreshUI - The task queue was cleared by an error in another task.

Nothing has worked. Help!

FireFox Tab Groups can remain closed and be re-opened via "List All Tab Groups"

That's why I use FireFox (v146/v147) and not Edge or Chrome

BUT what worked well these last four months suddenly stopped working TODAY, i.e.

 "List All Tab Groups" has disappeared and all I see are tab groups created today

Sadly I never created any FireFox account until a few minutes ago Does that mean those lost Tab Groups can only be recreated manually or is there an easier way ?

Will this catastrophe happen every time FireFox auto-updates itself on start-up (v147 since Jan13) ???

I restarted my computer, Windows 11, and everything was gone, no passwords nothing. I'm not a computer person but can follow instructions. I'm lost without this,please help. Can I retrieve yesterday's Firefox?

Firefox installed a new version and my stuff has disappeared. I don't recognize the window at all. I have tried the "restore sessions" but I'm told it can't happen. I need my stuff back.

Please tell me what to do to get the bookmarks back. Up to date Firefox: 147.01. Mac OS Sequoia: 15.5.

I had the Toolbar and Bookmarks Library yesterday. All are gone today. I have already spent much time reading on Mozilla site and Reddit. I will have to go to Safari and work from there.

I will check back periodically to see if I get any help.

Hi, I just installed the latest update today and all my bookmarks disappeared and I can't find them to restore. I have a newer computer with windows 11 installed. Just wondering how to get them back. Dave

Firefox recently started asking for a profile when I tried opening a link from email but, not having a profile, I ignored it. If I copied the link into my firefox browser (already open) I could see the link contents, i.e. page(s) opened. Since then I have closed Firefox and now get asked about a profile and have tried using original and creating a new one. We have, unfortunately, reinstalled firefox so this is now more complex. At present, whether I login to Mozilla account or not, my passwords, history etc are no longer on my laptop, despite supposedly being connected. Firefox on my phone is currently the only source of my passwords etc, which is not good as I cannot export from there!

Can I restore this info somehow? We've tried a few suggestions found on the web, but no good yet.

Has something changed recently? My husband got the same profile request on opening Firefox but it worked when he selected use original/default profile.
