Recent issue, April 2024. Had version 124 Firefox on Win10 computer and went to Help - > About to have Firefox check for updates. This has worked just fine up until now. The message "Failed to check for updates." is shown in the About screen. I have uninstalled and re-installed Firefox with the same results. Have also un-installed Firefox, un-installed Mozilla Maintenance, then removed Firefox data from App Data folder in user directory, then re-installed with the same results. Also, now when I access a local media server, I keep getting the message "Firefox is installing components needed" and that never goes away. Any ideas?

No way to ASK a question in the Monitor section, there is no GET HELP button.

In general, getting to the "ask a question" button in the support website is like finding hens teeth.

Didn't there used to be a Discussions forum, where you could see all of the questions being asked?

I have been experiencing a problem with Cloudflare specifically on one site (character.ai) and when the verify you are human pops up. It takes me in a seemingly infinite loop. On the Cloudflare community site they say it could be because of things like adblock but even without any adblock or anything of the sort on it does the same thing. Sadly Cloudflare community doesn't support being used on Firefox. So maybe they don't support being used on Firefox in general? I have contacted the actual websites support but they don't seem to even read submitted inquiries because I never hear anything back from them except the automated message they received it. It is now preventing me from using certain things in general which as before it wasn't that big of a deal but recently they changed the site layout and still allowed you to use the old layout but the verification blocks you from using the old layout. The first one is one from a couple of weeks ago when it only effected me trying to open things in a separate tab and the second one is the newer one which prevents me from accessing the old layout. I'm not sure what to do about it since nothing I specifically could do to solve it has helped. I have opted into sharing data under troubleshooting IDK how well that'll help.

I am trying to edit /etc/hosts file. CLI utils respect the values that provided there, Chrome also.

But the Firefox continues to ignore. I have disabled "Enable DNS over HTTPS using:" and turned it off.

But it doesn't help. What else could be done?

Hi, Please advise how to remove, disable, delete, block the new added "Your browser is being managed by your organization." to my Settings page. I'm home user .Also Please know that this is generating "FALSE FINGERPRINT CERTIFICATES" thank you

I am running the latest software, Sonoma 14.3.1 on my Mac Mini and the Firefox browser 123.0.1 With the last couple of versions of Firefox , after selecting About Firefox, I received the error message "Failed to check for updates" This happened a few times. I was able to manually update to the newer versions. How can I rectify the situation. My Firefox preferences under the General Heading has check for updates selected.

Firefox is now opening two windows at startup: one that has my previous session (which I always prefer) and one window with one blank tab. It used to open only the saved session. What can I do do change this. Thank you. (I have Firefox 122 version)

I want to disable Norton Safe Search. I followed Inst. Menu, add ons, extension tab, clicked the 3 dots & then delete. Restarted my computer, but it's still there. I definitely need help.

The title describes the problem I'm facing. I don't really use other sites that have videos other than Youtube. But I notice that the videos freeze quite often and audio just continues to play. The videos then unfreeze and skip multiple frames. I've noticed clearing browser cache seems to help but it doesn't help for longer than a 2 min video at best. At worst, it doesn't affect it at all.

When trying to open my protected browser with firefox I keep getting "Firefox is already running, but is not responding. The old Firefox process must be closed to open a new window." I have refreshed and re-installed Twice! I have followed the instructions to go to file (using %APPDATA%\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\) and make sure it is NOT Read-Only and to delete the parent.lock in it. Yet it keeps going to Read-Only and the parent.lock keeps re-appearing. The day before everything was working. I have tried Protective Browser with other browsers and it works. 1. Why is the Protective Browser not working? 2. Why is the File going to Read-Only and 3. Why is the parent.lock keep returning? Thanks

Since about one year I am unable to use Japanese input only in Firefox. When I try to switch with fcitx and control+space, nothing happens. However, fcitx-mocz works everywhere else on my computer (i.e. terminal, thunderbird, other browsers, etc.). Furthermore, I uninstalled fcitx and everything associated with it and reinstalled it according to this thread: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1367181 (just with mocz for Japanese). This also didn't change anything. Any help is appreciated! I'm a game developer working on my first WebGL game from Unity. For the past day I've been banging my head around getting controllers to work, only to discover the issue is with Firefox - my build works fine in Edge and Chrome.

What's the situation with Firefox WebGL support? Is this likely to be fixed at any point or should I inform users Firefox doesn't work (and be pressured onto using Chrome or something else myself despite wanting to use Firefox?)

Every time I am trying to search, google is always pinned on my search bar, and I want to get rid of it. How can I remove google? (On the image I marked the issue with a red circle)
