I have Bing as my homepage, but on one computer I have a very annoying problem. I click on the settings to turn off 'Show news and interests' and 'Show trending on Bing', but the next time I come back to the homepage these settings have turned themselves back on. What do I have to do to retain these settings?

Good Evening,

I switched to Firefox as my primary browser from Chrome due to Chrome's instance on forcing unnecessary and intrusive AI features onto the platform, and their revoking support for ad blockers.

Anthony Enzor-DeMeo's quote from his recent blog post announcing that Firefox "will evolve into a modern AI browser" is a huge red flag for me. I do not care how much he may promise the features will be "something people can easily turn off", I do not trust it will remain that way. Mozilla will have a bad quarter and suddenly those won't be optional features anymore. I have seen it happen with other tech companies and it's infuriating that Mozilla seems to be merrily skipping down the same path.

In addition to the AI bloat Mozilla seems to insisting they need, Enzor-DeMeo recently said that "He could begin to block ad blockers in Firefox and estimates that'd bring in another $150 million, but he doesn't want to do that." To even joke about that is an astounding misstep. I specifically joined Firefox to be able to use an ad blockers.

I've enjoyed my time with Firefox and have recommended it to friends in the past, but I have changed browsers before. If Firefox continues to forge ahead with these frankly absurd changes, I will have to do so again.

[Coupongogo: Automatic Coupons & Cashback](https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/coupongogo-automatic-coupons/) is a malicious extension programed with a command and control server located in China.

Despite [Firefox user reports](https://www.reddit.com/r/firefox/comments/1pl0u6m/malicious_addon_does_not_get_taken_down/), the extension remains available on the Mozilla addon store.

A [rastersec.com contributor explains](https://www.rastersec.com/blog/coupongogo-cryptostealer),

>\[Coupongogo\] operates as a remote-controlled time bomb, utilizing a dynamic configuration system to evade detection, hijack all search and browsing traffic, and wait for a server command to activate its dormant theft capabilities targeting major cryptocurrency exchanges.

Given the lack of success at securing the privacy and security of users by using the standard addon reporting tool, how can I escalate this matter to a responsible Mozilla party for triage?

I am using Kubuntu 25.04. I tried support but the support in Firefox doesn't seem to have much help for OSes beyond Windows even though they make a native Linux version. I subscribe to several extensions and use Firefox sync to get the extensions onto a new computer but they don't automatically pin to the menu bar. I figured out how to do that once but I forgot how I did that and can't find it in help. Can someone please tell me how to do that. Mozilla, if you are reading this you might want to improve the support in your Linux version.

some of my icons on the location bar do not appear, or only appear when I have the window maximized. How can I reorder thewse icons so the ones I want to see most often are on the left? this refers specifically to the add-on icons, but I would think all the icons are controlled the same way (that is, if one can control them).

Hello everyone. I make backups of folder "bookmarkbackups" in Firefox profile folder, so that when I have to make a restore after a data loss (for whatever reason), I can also restore my bookmarks. I'd like to be able to restore my extensions too, and to do this it would be enough to have a backup of the list of extensions I had installed before the trouble happened. However, if I backup the subfolder "extensions" of the profile folder, I would have a list of files the name of which looks like:

FirefoxColor@mozilla.com.xpi idcac-pub@guus.ninja.xpi uBlock0@raymondhill.net.xpi vpn@proton.ch.xpi {3d92ddc3-5581-453f-ad9f-d9ea864d1f9a}.xpi {531906d3-e22f-4a6c-a102-8057b88a1a63}.xpi

..so that in most cases I cannot guess the extension name from the file name. My purpose is to install manually the extensions in the new browser installation, once I have the list of the extensions. Moreover, in that folder you find all the extensions, both the ones which were active, and the ones which were inactive... But I'd like to have a list of the active ones so that I can re-install only that ones.

Does anyone know how can I get such a list, starting from the profile folder?

Many thanks in advance.
