My email changed from a .com to a .org and I was forced to reinstall windows before I could change it so I can't recover my account, which has passwords I need attached to it.

Hi. I was visiting someone and while I was there, I synced my Firefox account to his computer so I could do my personal business on it. I had it set up so I didn't need to log in before using Firefox, though. I've seen instructions for how to unsync a device at a distance that advise one to change one's Firefox password, but I am not sure whether this would work in my case since I didn't have things set up on the other computer to require a Firefox password. If I changed my password, would the other computer revert to requiring a password to open Firefox?

The second part of the instructions I read advise one to also change all one's other passwords: "If you don't change the passwords for things like your bank account, it would still be possible for someone else to log into your account on your lost device." I don't understand why this would be the case. Since I have over 200 passwords, this would also be completely impractical for me. Could someone please shed some light on this matter? Thanks.

I have completely separate bookmarks and bookmark toolbars on my work PC and home PC. I do log in on my home PC as to not lose my personal bookmarks and passwords. I accidentally logged into Firefox at work and it merged my bookmarks from my home PC. I logged out of Firefox on the work PC and removed the bookmarks that were imported from my home PC profile. I then tried to make a new account with my work email and login to sync on my work PC but it always says primary email needed and I'm stuck. I did go to about:profiles and add a work profile but that doesn't help me. I need to make a Firefox profile on my work PC with my work email address but the primary email thing gets me. Is there a way to do this with my current work PC bookmarks not lost? Thanks

I use Firefox as my default browser. I have sync turned on. Im signed in thru my google account. Firefox does NOT sync to my Chrome browser and Google account. Whats the fix?

Fix it so the FireFox browser Version 88.0 for Ubuntu (Linux) works AGAIN at saving website Login data using a Primary password via your 'FireFox Sync' advertisement (documentation).

This has happened to me on 3 different computers.

Today, I installed Modicia linux operating system on a new computer. Then, I installed Firefox browser. I logged into Firefox the normal way and all my book marks and passwords etc... were imported into the browser, but when I clicked the "Home" button, my customized home page was gone. There were just a couple buttons pre-configured to whatever the default thing is showing twitter and 2 or 3 other buttons, but not what I had spent 3 hours configuring on my other computers. This has only happened on a new install of Firefox.

When I went back to my old computer and started Firefox, they were all gone!!! All of them. How do I get them back without programming each individual button all over again? The picture shows what it looks like NOW. Before installing Firefox on this new computer, all 32 buttons on my home page were individually configured with URLs and custom icons. Walt

Hi, Some files, say PNG files, always download immediately. Other files ask where to be saved. In my settings, I only have about 4-6 entries, but PNG for example is not there. I deleted the handlers file and restarted. Same issue. The only thing I can think of is the fact that I'm using an account which syncs across 2-3 devices. How can I fix this issue?

Hello, I was reinstalling my OS, and I didn't create recovery code for my data to retrieve it after (which I found out after reinstalling my OS) on my Mozilla Firefox account, I had a lot of passwords, bookmarks and data that I need to recover, also for my full time job a lot of valuable data which I have lost now. I couldn't find any email address so I can address my concern directly, It's why I am posting here. Please help, I am so lost now. Hi, when I had cleaned out all my bookmarjks duplicates (and they were many 50.000 accumulated through the years)on my Linuxmachine and turned on my Windows 10 machine they were all back. So my question is: what data is saved when syncing with Firefox sync? And I dont mean the different types you can choose between ,no I mean: when I change one thing on onea logged in firefox on one machine doesnt that change the status of, and in my example the bookmarks on the other machines? Or is it the other way around, namely: will the second machine with all the duplicate bookmarks change the sync-"base" so they will be back on all other machines again? Very confusing especially if youre logged into moire machine then one at the same time. Please answer me, I really need to clean up my firefox's accumulated duplicates pretty quick. Sincerely Wal

i have re-install new windows and download fresh firefox and sign-in when i sync my account i didn't find any data (passwords , bookmarks , history , etc ... ) i found my firefox account as new

the other day my Samsung Galaxy S21+ died on me so I was forced to re-startup my old Galaxy S10+.. and I tried to sync the my new data on my Desktop and Firefox cloud to my phone...

BUT! it synced my old data a year old data from my phone to my desktop... destroying all my changes over the past year.. THANK YOU BACKUPS! saved the day... Firefox account need the ability to clear the stored Firefox data in the cloud to prevent this from happening again.. and I found similar questions that pointed to deleting my whole account and starting fresh.. THAT IS AN INSANE IDEA... no thx.. I have too much to lose...

Following direction on Help Page - Trying to sync tabs, bookmarks etc from one laptop to another. In settings, devices are said to be logged in and sync set to sync pretty much everything. Clicking the menu top right - only shows my email @ the top, then New Tab etc - but nothing about "Sync Now" or "Sign In" What am I missing? TIA, Jean

Yesterday I got signed out of my Firefox Sync and when I tried logging in, I realized I don't have Firefox in my authenticator app any longer. I have found Firefox recovery codes, which were issued in 2019 when I enabled 2FA, however when I try using them I get "Recovery code not found."

Can these recovery codes be used to prove my account ownership, even if I somehow generated new codes after 2019 but didn't save them (which I doubt, but it's not impossible) ?

I am not logged in on any other device so I cannot disable the 2FA that way. Is there any hope?

Hi - I'm signed into firefox sync on two different computers, both running Ubuntu 20.04. I can tell that they're connected to the same account because I can see the other computer in the list for "Send tab to device".

However, the bookmarks aren't syncing - one computer has the full set, the other (newly set up) computer still has the default bookmarks.

When I check `about:sync-log`, I see these lines:

That is, it seems to think that bookmark syncing is disabled - however, I have bookmark syncing enabled, as you can see in the attached screenshot.
