After uninstall and reinstall my Firefox i can't restore my bookmark. I used (CTRL+shift+b) and restore my file "JSONLZ4". But i have an error as "Unable to process the backup file". I read your forum and test many things but nothing. I also used the https://www.jeffersonscher.com/ffu/bookbackreader.html,but it does not work? It prompts:failed JSON parsing: SyntaxError: Unexpected end of JSON input. I really need my bookmarks! How can I restore them?

As of a few days ago whenever I start Firefox the window appears with the Bookmarks sidebar panel already opened. I click the "X" on the sidebar and it will close - until the next time I start Firefox. If I choose Menu->View->Sidebar->Bookmarks and uncheck it the panel will close - until the next time I start Firefox. No matter how the Bookmarks sidebar is closed, it will always reappear when Firefox is restarted. Even if I switch to some other sidebar, Bookmarks will replace it on startup.

I've searched about:config and found no setting which seems to control sidebar behavior on startup.

I assume this is the result of some recent update. Is there no longer a way to permanently disable the Bookmarks sidebar?

MacOS 12.7.5 Firefox 127.0 (64-bit)

I had a crash on my SSD (WIn7 Ultimate) - " Operating system missing" error. I saved the data and want to reinstall Win 7 and import previous Bookmarks data to new install of Moziilla Firefox.

I transferred the sqlite file (s88qn337.default) from the previous install (now non working system) to the existing working Firefox directory (C:/Users/My Name/AppData/Roaming/Firefox/Profiles/xxx.default.

I then renamed "default.XXX.old" (the previous install had only one file in the Profile directory - ie s88qn337.default)

When I try to open Mozilla Firefox, with the single file (s88qn337.default) in the Profile directory, I get the error "Can't find user data".

When I then open fresh install of Mozilla Firefox on working SSD (Win 7 Ultimate) and try to Import Bookmarks, the options are only "Import Bookmarks from Explorer" or "Import from html file".

How to resolve this problem, please?

Hi there! After a short elektricity blackout my PC was rebooted and I lost functionality of shortcuts on Mozilla default home page, turning on or off this shortcuts leads nowhere and just move search bar.

I am a longtime user of Firefox. When I started with it, I was under the (apparently false) belief that the main bookmarks folder was "other bookmarks". Consequently, all of my important bookmarks are contained in this folder. I just bought a new computer from Dell, and I find that I can not import the Other Bookmarks folder into the new computer. What I would like to do is delete the contents of the Bookmarks folder, then transfer the contents of the Other Bookmarks folder into this. I know I can do this one by one, but it will take a LONG time. Is there any way to do this in bulk? Thanks.

Hi, I've been a Firefox user for many years and don't have the slidest idea of what password I used to setup the account. I read in the Firefox documentation that I could loose all my information if I change my email but that's exactly what I need to do. I currently use gmail and have switched to Outlook. Two questions, how do I change to Outlook without loosing bookmarks, etc. and can I import my gmail accounts into Outlook. Thank you in advance. PS, I created a Recovery Key

Citibank cannot access the online account changed pass word and it keeps asking me for the new password.

Citibank says Firefox has to be restored?

Hi, Why do we have double spaced bookmarks forced on us ?. It is an unnecessary nuisance having to now scroll down, with absolutely no advantage. Why o why is it that when the 'developers' ? are let loose the result is always less user friendly. I have only opened an account to let mozilla know that despite being with them for ever, unless you can tell me a simple and permanent fix, i will be changing to another browser. This is a moan more than a question. About every six months or so my bookmark sidebar disappears because i have clicked Control and B without meaning to. And that is how to get it back again. Except, I never remember and search all over the page (View, Options etc) without finding how to get it back. So I eventually do a search for how to recover it and find all the archived guides from when other people had the same problem and the same question and ther same frustration. So my moan/quesion is this: why the blankety blank, doesn't Firefox add something into the menu (View or Options or somewhere) that says "Show toolbar permanently". Would save all this frsutration and irritation. The impression I get is that Mozilla thinks we should not want to have the menu on screen all the time. But that is the problem with users! We have our own way of doing things! Please!

Following a Mac rebuild, I decided to use a different e-mail for my Firefox profile, then tried to move all my bookmarks over. I tried both backup and HTML export from my old profile (on a separate machine, copied to the rebuilt machine) but restore from that file failed ("Unable to process the backup file.") and the HTML import seemingly did nothing - the operation completed without error but nothing changed. Any suggestion on how to get the bookmarks moved over?

Using Firefox on desktop, Windows 11. I am a long term Firefox fan/user.

My problem is I cannot find anywhere an easy method to add a shortcut on my Home Screen (which has now been a FF feature for some considerable time).

I am sure there was something available to do this in a prior version some time back. If I search the internet, I only come across articles describing how to do it on Firefox Android.

I know I can manually edit a box on the Home Screen to create what I need.

Sometimes new web sites that I visit appear in the boxes and I can then pin them in place - but the behavior around this is very erratic and unreliable - seems like random chance for an icon to appear on the home screen for a newly visited site. If this was more consistent, I could work with that.

BUT - where is the **intuitive** option??!!

I should be able to right-click on a tab and select "Add to Home Screen".

As simple as that.

Or drag and drop a link, or tab to the home screen - but this just opens the link. I have tried everything obvious that I can think of.

I'm using Firefox 100 on Win10 and can't save any bookmarks. They do NOT appear under the App Data Profile, which would not be acceptable even if they were. This change has made it impossible for me to continue using Firefox, unless I want to go back to Win7.

I simply need Bookmarks to work the way they did before!

I have logged into a new device with Firefox account and am not certain where the bookmarks have been pulled from as they do not match those on my previous device where the account was set to sync.

Fire Fox no longer appears on the menu bar. I have to go to programs and open it each time I want to use Fire Fox. It will appear on the menu bar as long as I have it open but leaves the bar if I close it.

Hi My browser updated to latest version 100.0.1 but all my opened tabs are missing. And what is more important all my sync bookmarks are also gone. I can note restore any of sync data.
