I downloaded Firefox update now I can't access Yahoo mail it's just a blank screen

I want tabs to close ( end process) when I close them
So now I manually 'end process' and the machine resumes speed
How do I get firefox to End Process when tabs are closed
this is w 8.1, don't know what version of firefox, pretty recent
this is firefox mozilla, as best I understand, not that I know why these two are always paired

When I open Firefox I get a message telling me "Failed to read configuration file. Please contact system administrator". When I click OK Firefox opens normally and seems to be fine. Not sure what is going on here. Any ideas why this is happening and how to get rid of it?
Windows 10 64-bit Firefox 115.3.1 64-bit
