In both versions 34. and 35. when I go to any Google site I get a pop-up box "Opening" with a message about opening 'application/octet-stream' and asking what should Firefox do with it. This never happened to me in version 33. and I have scoured the message boards looking for others reporting this problem but can't find it so must be something with my system config but I don't know how to troubleshoot it. Running Windows 8.1, Kaspersky virus protection on a Dell Envy AMD A10 processor ... I like Firefox and don't want to stay on version 33 so any help is appreciated.

Anyway, it takes you to go.daddy where the site has been parked. How can this ad be gotten rid of because when I first saw the ad I wasted sometime because I thought it was a advisory regarding my Firefox browser. OK How do we get rid of this ad?

I have Firefox Version 38.05 on Windows 7 and have refreshed, tried enabling a new HTTP cache.checked out the add-ons and still having the same problems The above statement about slow loading on my Firefox occurs on my desktop , but not on my laptop Windows 7. I Have tried all the recommended solutions and so far nothing works. Is there a possibility that some other programs could be in conflict with Firefox? This problem has been ongoing for several months and my patience is wearing thin. Any suggestions, fixes or advice? Thank you

When I go to the google homepage and begin typing my search, it jumps from the middle of the screen to the top (presumably to make way for the results).

However, as I continue to type, I very often get a shopping banner that pops up right over the search box, immediately stopping me from typing [see attached image]. I then have to hit the 'X' on the right hand side of the banner before I can continue typing my search.

It's incredibly annoying, as sometimes it will keep triggering every time I click back in the search box.

It seems to be triggered if what you're typing relates to something you could buy, so for instance, if you were to type in the name of a book or film, it would pop up with a link to ebay or amazon, and give you the best price for that item.

It's not in my add-ons. I'm on XP, using Firefox 38.0.5

Is this adware or something Mozilla have added, thinking it would be a useful tool?

Have been using Chrome on my Imac, but due to conflicts too often with Shockwave, started using FF. Did a Fresh dl of Lastpass universal inder FF which installed OK, checked for LP add-0n which showed that also was activated OK, but get no icon showing up in any corner, and sites thus not filling in automatic therefor. Also there was an incomplete import of LP sites from Chrome into FF. Solution not found in old forum notes.

First screenshot shows what happens with hardware acceleration enabled, which looks better, second screenshot shows how it looks aliased with acceleration disabled, with the stroke missing in certain places on very light fonts.

However, when hardware acceleration is enabled, if I open very large images or lots of inline images at a time, the browser window will flash white, all tabs will lose their favicons, and the browser must be restarted. For this reason I'm looking to keep hardware acceleration disabled, but use it (or its method) for rendering fonts only, if such a thing is possible. Alternatively I'd like a fix for hardware acceleration causing such behavior, although that seems more difficult.

Cleartype and font smoothing are both on systemwide. Disabling any of them makes the fonts even worse.

For long time keep saying looks like your using an older version of Firefox. Numerous times I have tried to install Adobe Flash plug in, both with Firefox and at Adobe site. I am on Linux 32 bit, not 64, all details I find are for 64 bit. https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/759565 I think the problem may lie here but I do not see the solution for 32 bit. Looks like maybe 2 plug ins? Anyway I need help. It's problematic with all the extra steps with the issue as you can imagine. I tried starting from scratch with Firefox, does not work, seems more like 52 card pick up....if you know that game. I'd like a solution if you have one. Thanks.

Project Silk was enabled on Firefox 39 for OS X, but in VMware environment this results a blank screen instead of browser content.

All gfx.vsync.* preferences are false by default, but it doesn't help. Is there are any way to force disable vsync completely?

I don't like the animation firefox's using to go fullscreen. I disabled "browser.fullscreen.animateUp" by changing value to zero. Now the problem is I don't see tab bar when I hover mouse on top of screen. This option is not simply disabling the animation but also my access to tab bar in fullscreen. Is there a work around? Hi, As I already said. Firefox is the only program which hinders the hidden taskbar to come up if the mouse goes down to bottom. This wasn't before and I use Windows 10 Technical preview since it's available. I always have do minimize Firefox if I need the taskbar. Thanks Rudolf Aigner

Ever since FF 37 was released I have been unable to view most videos on the web with the exception being YouTube It either buffers eternally or simply gives me a black screen.

Yes hello, as the title says some videos go slow after i pause em to look on something else, specifically in a site called animeplus.tv i watch the videos there, then i pause em for a bit to check for something else, or another video in another site or well whichever reason, the thing is when i return to this video and resume playing it, it gets very slow playback, the audio is fine, but the video itself is not working properly, so far i just seen this issue happen in that website but perhaps is the flash player? i dunno i removed a addon that i though could be the issue but is not. and when i try this on Google Chrome, it works fine, i pause the video check for other stuff, and the video still plays like normal. so i am hoping for some ideas in what to do cause i do like Firefox and i do not want to transfer over to another browser.

When I open 'Sync' tab and click 'manage', new browser tab opens in Polish (https://accounts.firefox.com/settings). How do I change that to English?

Our streaming audio service has been using Adobe Flash Player since 2007. With the February 2015 release of Firefox 36 many of our customers (Windows and Mac) are seeing our Flash player hang indefinitely at "Trying connection on port 1935". In somecases reinstalling Adobe Flash Player will fix this; in other cases reinstalling Firefox will fix this; in several cases only allowing incoming connections on port 1935 (new firewall rule) will fix this.

What happened? A lot of our customers use Firefox and suddenly no joy.

Update 35 has just messed up my puter! running XP Pro with and older graphic card (NO DRIVER UPDATES AVAIL) reinstalled OS last year with great difficulty but finally got it running without issues but this latest update has blocked my Nvida graphics driver and now clicking on web pic's will not enlarge!, tested on IE and it works so it's definitely a Firefox issue and it started yesterday after I downloaded the latest update 35 Everything else appears to be working, so far? This is a mess trouble shooting page had no fix other than to update driverI cannot upgrade the driver as a fix!! I am not techie enough to understand the other suggestions and will not mess with what I don't understand. Why would Mozilla install and update with no options knowing there are still users running older software without a fix/uninstal/or the ability to disable blocking. Help please!!!

I use FirefoxDeveloperEdition 40.0a2, with OSX 10.10.3. After I set a youtube video to full screen and then return to normal view, the toolbar ( Bookmarks ) is gone. Everything is still set the way it is supposed to ( display toolbar and so on ). After I restart firefox everything is back to normal. I removed all disabled all addons, but it did not change anything. Any Ideas how to solve this?

For some reason, I'm only having this problem on my work computer, not at home, even though as far as I know I'm running the same version of Firefox and most of the same extensions (both computers are running Windows 7, too). I have at least three different add-ons that include (or should include) right-click menu items--Pushbullet, Adblock Plus, and Open In Current Tab. Recently--and I don't know what changed to cause this--Open In Current Tab disappeared from the right-click menu entirely, and the Pushbullet and Adblock items moved to the top of the menu, above anything that's supposed to be at the top, like "Open in new tab". I can't find anything in these add-ons' options that's at all relevant; Open In Current Tab doesn't even seem to have options. I also installed Menu Editor, thinking I would manually change the right-click menu options back to the way they were, but none of these add-on menu options show up in its list of available options.

Any idea what might be wrong?

One installation of Firefox 38.0.5 on windows 8.1 does not display spinner box controls (see attached image). They are there but with 1 or 2 pix height as clicking the grey bar sometimes increases and sometimes decreases the numeric value.

Tried creating a new profile with no addons. Same problem. Haven't tried reinstalling Firefox yet.

This is not a problem with the website as this occurs on all sites with this type of form element.

It is also probably not a Firefox bug as I have Firefox 38.0.5 on Windows 7 at work that displays these form elements correctly.

Zoom (Ctrl +/-) does not change the erroneous appearance of the controls.

Any idea how to fix this?
