I initially just wanted to get some ad-blocking program to keep down the volume of all the flashing ads showing up on webpages. I'm working with a new laptop computer, and my old laptop had been "tweaked" with some Mozilla extensions (?) to address this, and I wanted to get the same on my new laptop. So I opened the application menu - the 3 horizontal bar icon, top right. First thing at the top, it asks me to sign in. Honestly, I don't think I ever did this. So I used one of the many secondary email addresses I use for this type of thing, put in a password, and created an account. Up popped a screen saying, "This Firefox is connected". And there's a "Show Code" button down below this. But I'm hesitant to press it, because I don't know what my code scanner is, I don't have a flatbed scanner (if that's what they're talking about), my phone is broken (part of the reason I have a new laptop today), and I don't see any Firefox apps called "code scanner", and nothing in the help community that I can find about code scanning. So what the hell? I can't be the only person who's gone down this rabbit hole...
