Ever since upgrading to Windows 10, I've been having performance issues with Firefox. I've tried the beta, alpha, and stable versions to no avail. All give me grief. It's to the point I can't rely on Firefox like I can with the others.
It's only certain sites that give me performance issues; for example http://shop.lenovo.com/us/en/laptops/?menu-id=laptops After the images load, it hangs for like 5-10 seconds before it's completely good. Where as other browsers do not hang at all.
Here's what I've tried...
- Firefox in Safe mode
- Refresh Firefox
- Firefox Alpha
- Firefox Beta
- Firefox stable build without add-ons
- Trying the same site on Chrome, Edge, Internet Explorer, and Opera. All work fine except Firefox
Used performance monitor and noticed that my system is barely thinking when running Firefox and loading problem sites. So it makes me think it's software.
My system
Intel I7 5820K 16 GB DDR4 2400 MHz (4 x 4 GB) 512 SSD (Firefox installed on 7200 3 TB HDD) *I tried installing on SSD and HDD) Nvidia GTX 970 Windows 10 Pro Upgrade Comcast 180 Mbps down - 27 Mbps up speed Connection shared through R7000 router with custom firmware BitDefender AV
I enjoy using Firefox more than any other browser and would like to continue to use it. My standard browsing has one tab open at a time and problems occur, but when I work I use approximately 10-15 tabs at one time and I still have the problem on some sites, work related or not, and it's quite frustrating. I know Firefox is free so there's no real complaint here, just offering assistance to help better the product with some rant included :)
