I don't like Firefox videos showing up in my media player controls, so I turned off media.hardwarekeys.enabled, but it doesn't seem to do anything anymore. I'm pretty sure it used to work at some point, don't know when it stopped working. Even though I have it turned off, videos still appears in the Media Player on my panel, and I can play and pause them with the play/pause button on my keyboard. I have also tried disabling dom.media.mediasession.enabled, but that doesn't help either.

KDE Neon 5.27 Firefox 113.0.2

I have been using code (stored in the Chrome folder of my profile) to keep the 'open application menu' pancake button on the left end of the toolbar. After I updated to version 113.0.1 today, I see that button shifted back to the right end of the bar. I do NOT want it there. Can you fix it so the code will work again? Is there alternate code or some other means to accomplish the same end?

My laptop died but I have been able to rescue the SSD and turn it into a USB connected external drive. I can see all data from my old PC.

I have tried to copy all of my User, Local Apps Data Mozilla Profile data folders to my new Laptop but the data does not appear when I fire up Firefox on the new laptop.

The old laptop folder was c:\Users|Phil, the new laptop is C:\Users\Phill {setup of new PC added a second L to my name}

Is this an issue ?

Last week, mid-day one day, videos on YouTube suddenly all had a warm cast --yellowish for color, cream/beige for B&W. I have researched the issue as I can. It is not my Windows night light; my drivers and PC are apparently all updated; everything is working fine. I checked to see if the same happened with Vimeo videos and it did. I'm running W10.

   Interestingly, the pop-up thumbnails one gets when hovering over the timeline as not affected; they look fine.
   One post by someone else was answered that it was a GPU driver issue; another said it's only with HD videos.
   I'm a B&W photographer and would really like to get back to normal again. 
   Any ideas?

I am running Linux Mint 19 and when I tried to activate the container extension some options were not selectable and a msg appeared at the top of my settings: "Your browser is being managed by your organization" I am a home user and never had anything to do with any corporate PC. The policy it lists is: disableappupdate true. Everything I see in the help database for this pblm pertains to Windows. As I said above I am running linux mint.

what is going on here???

I've just had to completely reinstall windows without being able to backup my files (I couldn't launch my computer in order to actually back them up) meaning I've lost my recovery codes. I thought this would be fine as I could just sign back into firefox on this new install of Windows but as it turns out I must've forgotten to put my sign in information into my password manager. Again, I thought this would be okay as I still have access to the email I used to sign up to my firefox sync but I got the message saying I'd lose my data which isn't fine and now I'm at a bit of a loss. I've had to use a spare email to make an account and ask here but I'd really love my old account back. Is there any way at all I can get back into my account without losing my bookmarks and passwords? If not, how much information would I end up actually losing? I'm slightly unclear on that part. Do I lose absolutely everything? I'm a bit stressed about all of this ontop of losing all of my old computer files so I'm sorry if this is a commonly asked question but I was struggling to find anything that helped me D:

With the latest update to Firefox (116.0.1) typing anything in the search bar looks as though my keyboard is mapped to everything - every keypress does something different. This only affects Firefox, no other program behaves this way (Word, Excel, Discord, etc.).

Currently running Windows 10, AMD Ryzen 7 1800, DDR4 RAM, Malwarebytes, and ZoneAlarm Extreme Security version: 15.8.139.18543. Had to revert back to Firefox 113 to type this via downloading it via Edge.

Firefox very often crashes on exit. It's been doing it for some time now, but am not sure exactly when it started.

I have updated to the latest version 113.0.2 (64 bit), am on Windows 10 which is also up to date. I have tried clearing the cache.

I have a 2020 Mac Mini with Ventura 13.2.1 on it. I have four virtual desktops which are part of the OS. I place various apps on the others like stocks and weather etc. to diminish clutter on screen. Firefox shows up on all 4 of them. I want it on only one desktop. Safari works on only one and doesn't show in the other 3 desktops. I have searched the net but haven't found anything that speaks to this in particular. Thanks for any help with this and I hope it's just a simple setting. Regards, Jim Stephens

We have set up exceptions for mail.google.com and accounts.google.com in Settings. Yet, Gmail is still asking for passwords to log in and saving them. I thought I had done all it would take to have Gmail remember them. Am I missing something?

Also, we cleared cache.

This happens only on Firefox and Firefox Developer Edition on one of my PCs and not the other. Firefox is version 113.0.2 (64-bit) and DE is 114.0b9 (64-bit)

Years ago the find bar was located at the top of a page. The somewhere along the line it was moved to the bottom.

Some good guys realized that's a problem for some of us and came up with code to put into a .css file. That was in 2017/18

The code has worked until last week ~2023/05/15.

Now the find bar is firmly planted at the bottom of the page...very awkward place for me. Makes edge look like something to consider as their find bar is still at the top.

I've check the code and no problems...I say it appears firefox is no long allowing this customization code to be used.

I've checked the knowledge base and the same articles from 2017/18 are still there...and the solution no longer work.

Does anyone have any suggestions? I hate traversing from the top to the bottom to do my work. The find bar at the top really made it convient and easier to do my job.

Usually when I start my browser for the first time, I have the Firefox homepage only. For two weeks ago, suddenly an extra tab show up when starting: A page with a commercial for installing "Avast Online Security & Privacy (Add to Firefox-button)".

I use Avast, but I don't want this add-on. And I certainly don't want that extra tab every time I start my pc.

I have three times searched for a solution all over in the Mozilla & Avast settings and on the net: I should go to "Add-ons and themes" - "Extensions" - and on the list "Manage Your Extensions" I should remove this add-on - but it's not there of course, because I didn't install it.

So how do I remove this tab from showing at start-up? (Google Search can't help) Appauling that someone put this tab on my pc in the first place. Both Avast and Mozilla have other ways to communicate with me about that add-on, if needed. Now I had to shut it down every day for two weeks, because I was way too busy to write you until now.

Hope you can help me.

i've facing this issue for weeks. i've completely abandoned windows server 2019 as daily os and installed windows 10 with latest patches. installed firefox and firefox developer as usual and did my same settings for years. but videos can't be played on reddit, twitter and linkedin. i tried to refresh browser, disabled addons (only ublock and enhancer for youtube is installed) to be sure. but still got nothing. in my laptop with same addons and same privacy & security settings could play videos.

Since Ebay changed their format for auction ads the photos that are part of the ads open as faint negatives that can barely be seen. However, if you right click on one and save to a new tab they are fine.

These bugs have probably already been reported but just in case they haven't there's an issue where dates can't be viewed on Facebook posts without hovering the mouse cursor over the title of the post. The other bug is the cursor often, but not always disappears when commenting on posts.

I'm using the latest version of firefox, at the moment i had a trouble. Text of timeline zone of my facebook hidden, first timeline unhide but other timeline hidden. I'm restart my firefox, remove and resync ... but this error continue. I'm try other browser as chrome, brave no error. How to fix it? I'm the fan of Firefox but user experience too bad with this error I'm upload some images screenshot with error and no error with chrome browser. ++

I have set .pdf files to be opened in firefox, not download and browser is still opening those in new tab and also downloading those. What could cause this problem?
