Hi all,

I'm using Firefox 125.0 (64-bit) on Fedora and for file downloads, I have the options "Ask whether to open or save files" and "Always ask you where to save files" enabled.

This basically works, Firefox opens a file selection dialog and I can select where I want to save my downloads - so far, so good.

The weird thing is, the default location that is shown in this dialog seems to change every time I download a file. I would expect to see the last download location as the default option, but that is not what happens.

When I check about:config, I can see the last used download path is saved as browser.download.lastDir perfectly fine, but it is not set as the default for the next download.

Is there a parameter I can set so this last path is used again?

I've been using Mozilla Firefox since ... well, before Firefox, I used Netscape, your great-great-grandfather.

I am not blind. I have some issues with visual objects on web pages like scroll bars when you can't effectively use them. They are too thin. Mozilla has had complaints about this since 2022.

Please Fix them. Otherwise I may have to migrate to Chrome or Edge and leave my Mozilla legacy behind for a differnent fork in browsers. It's a dealbreaker folks. People will leave this browser and probably are every day for one stupid reason. Scroll bars than are inaccessible without using something like windows magnifier when you need to scroll.\

C'mon Fix the scroll bars!!

This feature has suddenly appeared and I absolutely detest it! I don't need it, don't like it, don't want it! I have searched everywhere on how to disable it. PLEASE tell me there is an option to do that.

Hi. For the past few months I have been unable to play samples from the Audible website in Firefox on my android phone. When I click the word "Sample" Audible opens up a new tab with their Web player and I always get an error message that is just a rectangular box with an exclamation mark inside a triangle on the left side of the box. (Screenshot attached.) There are no words inside the box and the only option is to close the tab. Since there is no actual message I'm not sure what the problem is.

Playing samples used to work fine when you could play them within their web page before Audible changed its system. I seem to be able to play samples on Audible's Web player in Chrome, but would prefer to keep Firefox as my default browser. I have tried deleting all history, cookies and cache; closing and reopening Firefox; turning phone off and starting again after an hour. I've also tried enabling autoplay, but that made no difference. I was thinking that the issue may be with my other settings within Firefox, but I can't tell. Any help you can provide would be great. It's hard to describe what I mean without an example. I type "tart" into the search bar, and instead of the recently visited Wikipedia page on tarts, the autofill suggestions are full of pages in my history with "start" or "starter" in the title, or even in the URL but not the title. Is there any way to change it so the suggestions only contain the exact words I've typed?

Mozilla added Accuweather to my New Tab page today. I can't use it because my VPN uses other locations. I attempted to remove it using the "solution" from another user's post 9 months ago. However, none of those things worked. There is no "Tools" option in the menu and I unchecked and blocked every item on the "Page Info" tab under the "Permissions" header. Zero result.

The Accuweather feed shows up in the upper left corner of the computer screen and does not have a "dismiss" option. I did notice that it has some entries in about:config. Is the solution to be found there?

Can't pinpoint the date, but a while back Youtube won't play videos anymore. It just shows a black screen in the player. Not even the player UI (pause button, volume, settings menu) shows. Just a black portion of the screen. Now when I went in to get a screenshot, it doesn't even show the black box.

When I installed Firefox, I struggled to find a theme that was easy for me to see. So many had dark borders/backgrounds or busy backgrounds or transparent. It appears that I'm using the default at present and am happy with everything but the visibility of those little icons. Is there is a way to make them darker? Thanks

I wanted to view my full history but that option doesn't show. Using V130.0 464bit Under Privacy and Security I'm showing "Remember History" and the only other thing listed is to "Clear History". No option to view history. Any ideas?

I just swapped to a new PC and logged into my Firefox account but it keeps disconnecting me and says account is disconnected and I need to re login to connect. I re login and the issue continues again and again. Any ideas?

Since the auto-update to version 128.0.3 (64-bit) two weeks ago, my Firefox crashes as soon as I switch over to a different programme. I am on Windows 10. Whenever I try to re-open the programme, I get the error message that Firefox is already running and if I want to restart or quit. Can you please deploy a fix for this? Thank you.
