I've put over 12 years into using Firefox. I've put with all the broken sites and all that. It appears Mozilla is very proud of this horrible new feature where, when you start typing, it moves the typing to the search bar for some strange disorienting reason. I have turned this ugly feature off with about:preference and about:config options before, but it now appears Mozilla is dead set on inflicting this terrible feature upon us and it can no long be turned off. It's also inconsistent. A fresh browser that opens to my home (DDG) page will search in the SEARCH BOX as appropriate. But any new tab, which also opens my home page (DDG) will search in the address box.

It's the straw that broke the camel's back. I've had it and will look to Chrome again and how to strip all the nasty privacy problems out of that. I'm not sure why Mozilla took their product in this dreadful direction and decided that users should not get choices anymore, but here we are. Farewell Firefox, I will miss you.

What does this mean? being updated by another instance

Is this why my FF is running godawful slow today?

Pages coming up in 20 to 60 seconds or more instead of in a second or two.

I understand that in previous versions, there was a preference in about:config that would let me adjust the delay in ms that I would need to hover over a tab until its tab preview is shown. This preference is supposedly located at browser.tabs.cardPreview.delayMs but when I searched for it in about:config it did not show me any results. Any Google searches do not point me in the right direction either. Does anyone know what I could do to adjust this delay anyways?

The virtual keyboard on my HP OMNI 10 tablet has begun popping up at every touch of Firefox. This makes it almost impossible to use. Expected/normal behaviour is that when you touch web pages or any app., the keyboard stays out of the way while you move around. When you touch inside a textbox, the keyboard should pop up so you can type. Touch outside the textbox and the keyboard drops down. Now, ( since the start of May 2025 or so, I think), the keyboard pops up every time I touch the Firefox page, anywhere. This makes it almost impossible to use.

For example, on a Youtube video, I touch the video to start playing.... and the keyboard pops up, covering up the video! I have to touch the x to drop the keyboard down again. When I want to rewind or move forward, I touch the video to get the controls to appear and...the keyboard pops up, covering the video. I have to touch the x to drop the keyboard and by then the video controls have timed out and gone away again!

Right now, if I close the keyboard and touch this page outside the textbox, the keyboard pops up.

In Microsoft Edge the behaviour is normal and in an app., like Notepad, the keyboard only pops up if I touch inside Notepad.

By the way, I did all this typing once already but when you said you couldn't read my troubleshooting information automatically, I tried your manual steps, and that took me to another web page. When I came back to this page, all my typing was gone! Very annoying. please don't do that again.

At some point in recent time I started encountering broken websites, and that "http" in their scripts seems like what's causing it. Full error text in the console: Content-Security-Policy: The page’s settings blocked an inline script (script-src-elem) from being executed because it violates the following directive: “script-src http: https:”

what I tried to do to fix this: 1. Disabling https-only mode in settings 2. Disabling all the enabled extensions 3. Tried disabling "enhanced tracking protection" for pages with the errors; and also tried switching tracking protection from strict to standard in the settings 4. Tried checking problematic pages in a new fresh Firefox profile, and they do work there seemingly fine. But I would like to fix the issue for my current profile and understand what's causing it.

Hallo, seit einiger Zeit friert die Seite von " welt.de" ein. Komischerweise nur diese, sonst keine andere Internetseite. Ich habe schon gegoogelt, woran das liegen kann, habe aber nichts gefunden. Gibt es von ihrer Seite hier Tipps, was zu machen wäre ? Grüße Stefan Zintl

Hello I have the latest version of firefox using for windows7 ultimate and since several months is having problem to watch youtube. it has only 15 seconds working and stops. what to do? thks Best nicolas

Whenever i open a page i get a translated version of it, i have to click on the original url button to get the page without the translation. Anyone knows how to deactivated or remove it? I don't have a google translate widget or smh like that.

Let’s say I have 20 tabs open, which I don’t quite remember anymore but occasionally return to. Naturally, I have the browser set to restore all tabs on startup. At some point, for one reason or another, a second browser window opens in the background. I close my main browser window, and I’m left with just this second window. When I close that one too and then reopen the browser, I no longer see my 20 tabs — I only see that second window with a single tab. In the Firefox View menu, I don’t see my 20 tabs in the list of recently closed tabs or in the list of open tabs. Is this expected behavior? Are there any plans to fix this?

Mozilla Firefox constantly not responding. I have been unable to access any of my sites, as the browser doesn't seem to be working. Very frustrating. How can I refresh Firefox to reset it??

Started a couple days ago

Youtube works fine for everything, except when i try to watch a video, the rectangle where the video is supposed to be appears black during loading (normal) but then vanish.

checking the console i get a huge error that's just unreadable for me

it doesn't happen on edge, or in private navigation

turning every addon off doesn't fix the issue, and it does it even in "troubleshoot mode"

i haven't "refreshed" because i don't know what kind of data will be lost when i do that

According to this page: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/keyboard-shortcuts-perform-firefox-tasks-quickly it defines that, when Editing, I should be able to press Home and End to navigate to the start and end of the lines I am on.

Is that an error? I cannot use the Home and End keys at all in this very textarea I am typing in. Command-Left/Command-Right work, but not Home/End.

I have not changed any mappings of my keyboard, and I'm not using any addons. Restarting the browser in troubleshoot mode does not change the behavior.

I've read innumerable posts about this saying to remap it to Command-Left, but I don't want to do that. I want Home to scroll to the top of the page when I am browsing, and to go to the beginning of the line when typing. This is the behavior on Windows, and it should be consistent across versions. If I remap it, then the Home key goes Back a page, which is terrible.

Also no I'm not in caret mode.

How do I change the content that is sent to my home landing page when I launch Firefox. 98% of the content is from fake news sources that are wildly inaccurate and just plain not true. This includes sources such as Vox, The AP, Reuters, The Guardian, Business Insider, etc. It seems all Mozilla news feed sources literally are the fake news media which remove trust from your organization, and NOT something Mozilla should be promoting. By pushing those stories and content from fake news sources, it literally makes me not trust Mozilla's intent or objectives.
