Says that I can’t have lines separating my unused tabs anymore. This is SO annoying. Can anyone help me get borders between my unused tabs?

Also, WHY ARE YOU DOING THIS Mozilla? Now I have to stop EVERYTHING that I am doing and research how I can make your browser work the way I want it to. Why do you always assume that you know what is best for me?

I tried the "Stylish" add-in but when I try to install a specific style from their site - nothing happens.

The Firefox Universe is extremely vast, and trying to Google “lines between my unused tabs” is getting me nowhere. I don’t know how to develop themes. I don’t code. I just want the browser to look like it did last week. Is it really so much to ask?

My previous thread locked yet again. There are several obvious questions and requests for support, yet the mod Seburo cant see them, or is choosing not to. So i'm staretring over again. Watch, here comes the disabled get bullied yet again.

In typical fashion, mozilla volunteers insist o go rewrite my letter somewhere else, on a dif page, on a dif site, in a dif location.

AGAIN, these concepts are ridiculous and not based in reality. In other forums, mods simply move posts to the appropriate topics.

Mozilla volunteers are now insisting we spend years learning and understanding the layout of their 1 forum, in order to post in what is their opinion of the proper location. If I could figure that out my own, I would have done so. But I couldn't. Mozilla makes it hard. \ So i'm reposting yet again, to show the world how this sector of human society continually gets pushed around and bullied, even when seeking support, and ZERO HELP IS EVER FORTHCOMING.

the autistic and aspergers sector of society has an extremely difficult time with change. They have made petitions, submitted emotional testimony online in your forums, etc, and there has been a complete lack of response.

There is gobs of scientific data around this globally, and overzealous overlords in tech constantly change the way the product looks, ignoring the science. These changes do nothing for functionality for 99% of people, and doesn't generate revenue for anyone.

What it does do, is it harms, disengages, and disenfranchises this entire group of society. Where they already have an extremely difficult time, the tech world continues to march away from logic, science, and evidence, insisting decorative changes are necessary and required, when the reality is we all know, there is an over the top engineer or designer at 4am on a sunday going "OMG CHARLIE LOOK AT THIS FONT!!!!! IMPLEMENTING IT NOW!!!!!! OMG THIS BUTTON NEEDS TO BE OVER HERE NOW!!!!!"

And then, they force us to accept these changes, without warning, teaching or sharing the change, and without giving the majority the information they need, or the ability to understand or even use the change.

These changes toss their family and home lives into chaos, stress, weeks of slow, turtle like crawl back towards some stability in these humans lives. In extreme cases, these individuals can be physically violent with their family because they have social disabilities, emotionally damaging relations, love, and kindness, simply because the tech world is full of 1 up man ship, instead of logic or compassion.

The tech world can literally design build and create anything, except the concept of no change for those that need it most.

Every time there is these fundamental changes either to design or functionality, these humans retreat from the life they have that comforts them, they lose advancements in their personal lives, and it disturbs and can harm their well being, their home lives, and their relationships with their care takers.

The latest update for your browser changed my childs right click menu, that he spent months learning about how to change and setup for himself. He cannot understand or comprehend how he laboured for what to him seems to be an eternity, and one day when he fires his browser up, all his hard work is gone, that he literally spent months learning.

This time, because he cant reach his emotions, because of the changes firefox forcibly deepthroats planet earth with, he picked up his laptop and threw it out the rear window of the house, a total cost to repair and replace all damages amounting to just under $8000.

Because someone changed his personal stuff. In his private space. Located in his personal house, where he lives in privacy with his family. WHY WOULD THAT CHANGE? WHY SHOULD THAT CHANGE?. HIS PERSONAL ITEMS CHANGED IN HIS PRIVATE LIFE. And no one told him. No one educated him on it. No one told him why it would be better. No one provided him with the tools to use it. He spent months learning this stuff, and one day he woke up and his effort was erased from the planet.

Why is it ok to take a virtual machete to someone else's hard work because someone wants a different color?

Henry Ford never went into that car you bought, and changed the location of the steering wheel or the pedals.

Thomas Edison never went into your house, and changed out the light switches for a new design or shape.

GE never went into any ones home and changed the plastic bezel on our tv's.

But all of a sudden, we have a tech world where the only constant, is change. Change of colors and buttons, which in most cases, the business world of making money, keeps saying is costing us, as a society, billions now, and its not generating revenue, its a loss and write off. The business world struggles to keep up with dynamic products, reeducating and relearning, because some digital exist in a logic vacuum.

Speaking of losses, even the general public sees little to no value in change that serves nothing but whimful designers. In fact, the majority of research indicates that the public would rather be able to makes their own style and design changes, instead of the dynamic, impossible to keep up with changes that have morphed into a false idea of progress in the computer world.

CHANGING COLORS AND BUTTONS AND FONTS IS KILLING THESE VERY SPECIAL PEOPLE INSIDE. AND IT ISN'T THEIR FAULT. ITS A DISABILITY

When can we expect Firefox to reach the reality that the public already knows?

This was also sent as an email, to mozilla press, via the web form. As of today, the recieving email address is unknown and hidden, because instead of posting a public address, mozilla uses a web form preventing a submitter from retaining a copy for themselves in most cases, in the form of sent mail. That in and of itself, at face value, appears to be intentional, a deceptive process of false engagement. Another disturbing fact in all this, is that more and more companies are hiding the who/what/where/why of their leadership.

As an individual, i am becoming more and more leery of companies and organizations that hide all forms of contacts and insist people use a forum, where they may or may not get a response, resulting in zero accountability in most cases. (When organizations ask for free public volunteers to be members and help the public, that amounts to social theft. Multiple countries on earth have outlawed this type of behavior, as it resembles an unpaid internship, resulting in free monetary maintenance value for profit oriented organizations, which I acknowledge firefox is not).

If an email submitter cant archive or even retain a sent email, because their point of contact was forcibly moved to an unaccountable web form, any organization can deny all existence of submissions, and thus wash their hands of all responsibility and plead ignorance.

If your organization truly advocates for a healthy internet as it virtue signals, then this letter would never have been necessary.

Every single person on earth, is trying to understand, for 25 years, why our lap top and computer screens are 14 to 20 inches wide, and when we send an email or forum submission to firefox, all the text exists inside a 2 inch by 2 inch window, with 10 inches of unused dead space surrounding the text field, complicating and making editing and fluid reading 100% impossible. We cant read 1 complete line at once, we have to scroll and scroll and scroll in order to read 1 SINGLE SENTENCE. And then you forget what you typed in the previous line because your eyes cant flit and read it in an instant, you have to grab a mouse and scroll, causing you to forget what you were trying to edit, making you go back and find the questionable entry all over again, repeating the process. Tiny text entry boxes are personal time thieves, requiring more effort and time to use. And then because the text box is so small, some people simply write in MS Word or a text document, and copy pasta it over, because you can see multiple lines and paragraphs simultaneously, simplifying and smoothing the editing and proof reading process, all because of a design fail that has been implemented globally as good because its something different than what to used to exist, when we all admit the functionality is a complete failure in all aspects.

Imagine that. Not using the firefox submission form makes life easier to contact firefox. WOW. What a paradox.

These are absolutely preposterous concepts, yet they have existed for 25 years and more. Everyone I know objects, and finds it ridiculous. Yet it persists.

We keep pushing people away and disengaging some, because the rest can cope or deal, or simply to choose assimilate because they feel 100% powerless to have a voice.

The new tab "button" hovers over the browser, and to my aspergers child, seems to be disconnected from the tab and in the wrong place. With no ability to fix, commence bay glass window shatter countdown.

$8000 repair bill in 10, 9, 8, 7, 6........

.....because layouts, colors, button placements and designs, are changed. And nobody asked for it.

               Addendum: I have always set up my mouse to scroll 3 lines with a scroll. This letter, takes me 4 minutes to scroll through, even thought it is only 1 page. Because the text box is 2 inches wide**** 

What a ridiculous waste of time, effort, energy, and my life. Thanks firefox. Thanks for promoting a healthy and safe internet.

To add to the above, i made an account or something to post this on this forum, i never save passwords or logins for any accounts and ff displays no known logins or passwords in my settings, yet this site has only ever asked me to login once, somehow somewhwere saving my information that i dont want saved, anywhere anyhow.

to furthur add insult to injury, the most used font on earth is helvitica, which has been removed from the entire firefox browser.

We are now expected to all be engineers and developers and self code our browsers to provide basic functionality to ourselves.

What an absolute slap in the face to human beings.

Note for Serburo: If you actually honestly read my post, you will find multiple questions, and multiple requests for support. Do not lock without proper responses this time, as you have now violated the firefox support mandate twice.

Ever since upgrading to FF89, some websites don't increase the font size when I zoom in using ctrl+mouse wheel. The default seems like 9px, really hard to read.

Facebook is a culprit. Also OctoPi, a local service. Facebook, at least, uses rem units. Doesn't react to zooming in.

I have Firefox on two computers. This website works on one, but not the other. Please advise what troubleshooting steps to try next.

What I've tried on the laptop so far (none of these solved the problem):

tried in a private browsing window

tried in Troubleshoot Mode

uninstalled Firefox deleted default profile folder (that was the only profile) deleted profiles.ini reinstalled Firefox

What setting will stop the constant notice "Download the latest version of Firefox." I don't want 20 notices per day. It's like having a child in the backseat "are we there yet?" "are we there yet?" "are we there yet?" How many times do I have to click the "Dismiss" button before this stupid software understands that I do not want updates? I've noticed that this is a common complaint. Stop the bullying by making people choose automatic updates. Many times things get messed up on my computer with updates and it is not worth the aggravation. Candace M.

I installed the IDM addon and it caused my browser to revert back to an earlier version, thus corrupting my places and favicons files and causing me to lose five years worth of history. I have sqlite3 and I have tried seeking help from many different places, but I'm a neophyte when it comes to command line stuff and a lot of the information I have come across is either impertinent to those specific files, outdated, or has dead links. At this point, I'm willing to give the files to someone more tech savvy than I am so that they can fix them for me if I have to.

Please help me, either through instructions, or through direct repairs. If it's not possible, I can sync with my other devices and import six months worth of largely similar browsing history, but I'd rather it not come to that.

My firefox is getting disconnected that lasts for a couple of minutes and then the connection gets restored. It is frequent and has been taking place since a few days ago. The problem is only in Mozilla Firefox and all the other software tools are well connected to the internet. I tried to fix the problem by refreshing the firefox and then uninstalled it and re-installed it but the issue remains.

I would appreciate any help.

With the annoying new Update from FF89 is besides everything almost 1 color (what can be fixed by changing the protons to false) The bookmarks are only outlined Very annoying and harder to see!!! how can i change it to filled again?.. can not find it in about:config

This problem has been around since the latest version of the old version, and has carried across into the new version. Ctrl+A, Ctrl+C and Ctrl+V no longer work with Google Translate on linux. I have tested in other browsers and it they all work fine. Firefox on Windows also works fine, this problem seems specific to linux.

When you press any of the Ctrl combinations it simply deselects everything and moves the cursor to the end of the text. Mouse works, but it's not practical if you are cutting and pasting all day long.

Google Translation is critical to my work so my current solution is I no longer use Firefox. I hope that someone knows of a quick fix, or if it's a bug it's easy to fix as I'd hate to permanently move away from Firefox for something like this.

Firefox has just updated itself on my laptop and the tab size is now too big. It just feels like a huge strip of the top of the screen is now being wasted. Is there a way to reduce the size of the tabs?

I like to use the slider for scrolling though long articles and back. But many times I can't find the slider, it stays invisible until I hit it by accident. This is crazy, why can the slider in the scrollbar not be visible all the time? there is no option to deactivate the stupid rule that hides it. Please somebody an idea for a workaround or so. For starters, I want to type my search in the larger, lower search bar, but more often than not, what I'm typing shows up in the smaller search bar that is higher up on the page and not on the bar where I'm typing. That is annoying.

But even more annoying: whenever I start to type what I want to look for, a drop-down menu appears with lots of suggestions for me, and those suggestions hide the lower search bar. As soon as I type one letter, the drop-down menu appears with lots of guesses about what I want. I don't want suggestions cluttering up my page ~~ I just want to type without all of that clutter. I'd leave an added image, but it won't let me take a screen shot of what I'm talking about.

Is there any way for me to disable the drop-down menu with suggestions? I HATE IT! Just let me type what I want to find!

After the update to 89.0 the Shortcuts have taken an 'visual upgrade' that makes all the images chosen for them half as small as they need to be because they need to have a 'cute little grey border' almost as big as the image between it and the corners of the square.

I have twenty four shortcuts, that I differentiate at a glance through the images without having to stop to read the text on each one and this stupid change is really roasting my mellows, I have taken a look and haven't found any option to revert it to the previous look, anyone knows any way to do it or do I have to install the previous firefox update and stop updating and give up security updates to save myself from this stupid change?

The CSS element, below, is not rendered properly in the current version of FireFox for Windows. I first noticed it with the introduction of FF 89.0.

If a web page with this element is scaled, the image contained within the element does not scale. This element renders properly in other browsers (Edge, Chrome, Samsung, etc.), and the current Firefox for Android. There may be other CSS elements that use some component of this that also will not render properly, but I didn't test for them.

Problems that I faced: 1. There is no firefox window opened, but "new staff train - google drive" window name still appear. Please see attachments. ( the "new staff train" was a window that was closed long time ago) 2. Normally, when one minimises a window and clicks the firefox, the minimize window will pop up, but now it won't.

I did try to delete, uninstall and reinstall firefox, but the problem still exists. Please advise what I can do to solve this inconvenience. Currently, I'm using Firefox 89.0

With the latest update, my tabs are now a complete blank space with tiny little words. How can I get something back, like a border, to define them again? Thanks for your help.

Firefox updated to version 89 last night and since then I cannot properly view certain websites I use regularly such as BBC news and Vimeo (have uploaded pic to show). I have restarted computer, and turned off hardware acceleration and cleared cache and cookies - these don't help. If I start in safe mode it's all fine - I've disabled any extensions and themes and tried again but the problem is still there. All was fine before the update. Not sure what to do next.

After updating to 89.0 the appearance of FF is horrendous. that light coloring, change of tabs, and etc. I want to revert to the color schemes I have before. How do I do that? It is so ugly, I will seriously go back to Google Chrome if I cannot; and that is a huge statement coming from me.
