My new Windows 11 laptop forces me to use the "Mail" app to forward links by email using the "email a link to this page" utility feature in the Firefox toolbar Prior to this, my old laptop would just use Outlook which was quicker/better.

The multi-step method using Mail was cumbersome so in trying to designate Outlook as the sending vehicle over Mail, I designated a non-performing solution which is now preventing me from emailing links (and captured webpage info) at all. I would like to migrate back to Mail or find the correct choice for Outlook but the "email a link to this page" in the Firefox toolbar does not work now as a result of my poor choice.

Anyone know how to fix this? I have "restored factory defaults" and other on the toolbar features but does not help. This was apparently an unrevocable choice.

My System Mechanic malware search system has quarantined a virus located in two Firefox locations: Virus is W32/Trojan.YZST-9002 LOCATE IN: C:/PROGRAM FILES/MOZILLA FIREFOX/UNINSTALL/HELPER.EXE C:/PROGRAMFILES/MOZILLA FIREFOX/MAINTENANCE SERVICES_UNINSTALL... I will use the delete process and remove them and watch for future loads.

FireFox keeps putting a .jpg at the end of any file I try to download with .exe as its extension and adds a .jpg, example, when I download QU210InstallFiles.exe it changes it to QU210InstallFiles.exe.jpg and I cannot there for install the program because it has the .jpg added to it and it wants to open in windows media viewer instead. It never use to do this, what have you guys done....uuhhhh, any help would be nice and I thank you. Daniel Goggia

I'm a gamer and alt+tab considerably often. Most of the time I end up on FireFox because I need to look at a map or browse reddit while I'm in queue. However, whenever I alt+tab frequently a bookmark will get selected as if I am clicking and dragging. The bookmarks on the bookmark tool bar always end up in different places. Is there a way to lock these links in place so I can't move them or do I have to resign myself to fixing it every day?

Recently, my win 10 crashed and although I managed to recover some operative, I found to my horror that the desktop screen text size and contrast cannot be changed now. The current default setup is a real eye sorer, so I opened personalization settings but there is nothing on how to change this very theme, other than other posts suggesting entering the regedit system files. I am very reluctant to tinker with this given the Win10 application crashes. Running maintenance doesn´t do much. I notice that Firefox also has access to this very text size and font theme for web domains, but I am very wary again of tinkering an unknown. What the heck can one do, confidently without the system resetting itself? One thing is for sure, it seems Win10 home edition update 21H1/2 versions is basically treating users very badly, as if MS wants to ignore them. Bless us all when the embedded caption suggests "ready to update to Win11". I´m highly inclined to bin it.

even weirder, i can access both google and FB on my laptop with firefox. I've tried syncing the two with having bookmarks etc. i can sync from laptop to desktop but not vise versa.

i thought I'd uninstall and reinstall firefox but i don't want to lose any info esp my Bookmarks on the Desktop hence why i was trying to sync the two.

My desktop is older, maybe 5-6 years, my laptop is 1 year old. Dunno if this matters. thanks, Jan

When playing videos, specifically on YouTube, I can see some blocky/pixelated sections in video playback.

Issue is not present on Chromium-based browsers, I've tested in Vivaldi and Chrome. Both are using dav1d.

When AV1 is disabled through "about:config" the issue is gone, but then I face a stuttering problem.

Often the ctrl + m (mute tab) shortcut gets in my way while using the browser as i use this shortcut in something else. I would like to know if it is possible to disable that.

When I click on an article or any link in Outlook, I get an error message that says, Your organization's policies are preventing us from completing this action for you. For more info, please contact your help desk. I'm not an 'organization', just a user and obviously there's no help desk to contact, so I thought I'd reach out to see if someone might have a solution to this problem. I have already made sure that my default programs are set to Firefox for my browser and Outlook for my email and made sure all the defaults are selected. I have also run a full windows scan program which came up without any errors and I have run a registry scan that fixed every identified error. I'm still getting the same error message and the only way for me to open up an article or a link from an email is to 'copy hyperlink', open up a new tab in Firefox and select Paste and Go, which is driving me nuts and wasting a ton of time. I don't know what else to do at this point. I did find a document on the internet that has what it says is a method to resolve this exact error message problem, but the instructions are specific to Internet Explorer, not Firefox. I'm hesitant to find those same tools on Firefox (which is quite possible, though some of them are in different places on Firefox than they are on Internet Explorer). My concern comes with the fact that the final step will 'reset' every setting to it's default condition, so it seemed like a good idea to try to get some expert help before I perform such a drastic action. Also, I'm also making the assumption that if I did do a complete reset, I would be able to restore Firefox back via my most recent System Restore and it would bring back all my customizations, browers add-ons, personal settings, home pages history, cookies, privacy settings, etc. - but I'd like someone to weigh in on this. I use a laptop with Fedora 36 installed. Firefox is version 104.0.1

Until a few days ago, there were no problems with video display. But since a few days, video content that is offered by the news site from NOS (Dutch television) is not displayed anymore. I only get this error: The media playback was aborted due to a corruption problem or because the media used features your browser did not support.

Also some content on Youtube aborts. For example loading https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qq0BUiEs3JM results in this error: Er is een fout opgetreden. Probeer het later opnieuw. (Afspeel-ID: Ui0fzPxdSexgYcZ4).' (An error occured, try later again).

When using the Chrome Browser both websites can be used without giving errors implying that all the codecs are available.

How can I detect why video is blocked?

I had an arrow on the right side of my FF Toolbar for "Other Bookmarks". Recently it went missing. I have many bookmarks under that heading, and can get to them through the Bookmarks Manager, but no arrow on the Toolbar. How can I get it back?

Same problem again with upgrade. After the last upgrade today 9-5-2022 I no longer have video play back on sites such as MSNBC, CNN or Twitter. U-Tube seems to be working fine. I have checked and have version 5.0.1 of ffmpg installed if that helps. And I have turned off ad blockers. Firefox 104.0.1 in Fedora 36 workstation. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Hi! In Windows 10 new version 104, .pdf are opening as a download as well as a file. I checked settings, and it still shows that .pdf should open as a file. How do I keep it from becoming a download?

When I go to yellowpages.com everything looks as it should until I type in the business I want to look up. The screen that pops up offers the suggestions of businesses it has selected to view. But the lines are all jammed together making it quite difficult to read. Something is awry because on Edge this does not happen. Screenshot attached.

is it possible to disable the "saved logins" dropdown, whenever a password/email field gets focus? (see image)

I've already disabled "Autofill logins and passwords", but that just disables not directly autofilling the field.

I want to disable this field, since I can still use saved logins via right click "use saved password", which i prefer.

Its no form field, i've already checked that + it occurs on all login pages.

The only options i've found where: "signon.showAutoCompleteOrigins" - hides from which website and "signon.showAutoCompleteFooter", which hides the lower part with "view saved logins"

Is there a way to disable this Dropdown completly, without loosing the auto save/ask to save new passwords?

Hello, in YT bar when you change video quality/sound etc, there is something missing.... im not a native english speaker and it is hard to explain this to you, so i have some screens for you to understand it :)

The first screen where the problem is, is in Mozilla Firefox and the second one is in "Opera" and there is no problem with this. I don't know if i did something or it is mozilla problem so please help :)

I was wondering if I can enable this function (that green text saying "Mozilla Foundation (US)") or it was deleted. If it's still in browser, can someone show me how to enable it?

When I click on Bookmark Current Tab in the Bookmarks menu no dialogue box appears and it does not save it. Command D etc. to the right of the menu items are grayed out.

When I right click on the tab and click on Bookmark Tab I do get a dialogue box, but Save is grayed out (i.e. not clickable). I can only click on Cancel.

Clicking on the star in the address bar also does nothing.

Command D does nothing.

I've also discovered I can't edit or remove bookmarks either. Those processes look like they are working, but the changes are not saved.

I have shut down and restarted my MacBook many times since this started happening, as suggested by jscher2000 on the Mozilla Connect Community board, so that doesn't work.

This is Firefox version 104.0.1 (64 bit), on a 2021 MacBook Pro running Mac OS 12.5.1 "Monterey". Both Firefox and the OS are up to date (checked them again just now).

I bought my MacBook new at an Apple store on 08-26-22, and transferred my files and settings from my 2018 MacBook to it from my backup drive, updating to the newest version of Firefox, which I gathered was released just a few days earlier on 08-23-22.

After I upgraded to the most recent version 104.0.1 on my desktop, Google search results infinitely scroll instead of breaking up into pages. I haven't changed anything else, didn't add any new Add-ons, etc.

What could be causing this? I tried altering every setting on the Google Search site, but it keeps happening. Is there a way to revert to an older version?

My wife has an older Mac. About a week ago, a pop-up from Firefox told her to update her program. She loaded in the new one and when she tried to open it she got the message that her computer was too old for the update.

We had to reload the most recent update which had been running on her computer.

Now, none of her bookmarks show up and the bookmark toolbar will not display near the top of the screen as it used to.

None of help items online are of any use because what they say will show up on the screen (such as when you enter "about:profiles") is not what shows up on her screen.

Is there any way to recover her bookmarks, passwords and other saved data, please?
