Today I switched the Firefox Sync account from old one to new one (just personal hobby, won't use the old e-mail anymore). I received this message: "The confirmation email we sent to ******@********* was returned and we’ve locked your account to protect your Firefox data. If this is a valid email address, let us know and we can help unlock your account." because the new e-mail was inactive for 48hrs so. It was my bad, I registered the new e-mail to Firefox Sync not long after it was made, so I have to wait for 48hrs till it is usable (provider's policy). Err... I'm not sure if the e-mail I wrote got auto-censor or not, so I censored it myself. I can give it to you whom concern later, if necessary. But I don't get the point here. How can you protect my Firefox data if it is just a whole new account that even not login successfully first time, still waiting for e-mail verification?

Hi. Here's how it happened. I've using FF portable for a long time. I recently updated from v.69.0.1 to v.78.0.2. But the newer version installed in a different folder and now I can run both versions. Yesterday I had the v.69 working with around 500 tabs open. Suddenly it crashed and then freezed. Luckily, I had managed to save my current working session by accessing Tab Session Manager addon. But when I go to Tab Manager Session and click to open this saved session, FF v.69 will keep freezing, no matter what I do. (Tab Session Manager has another option „Export”, but I don't know to use it or what it does.) I will quit using FF v.69. But how can I get the new v.78 to open this 500-tab session? Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

Previously, I considered Firefox account and synced passwords to be the safest way, but there is no place left for trust. It is regrettable...

I am trying to keep a work (Windows 10) and home computer (Mac/Mojave) in sync for my Firefox settings. I have long been on beta update channel at home (now 80.0b3) but work machine is locked down to release version only (not sure which one that is).

I get the following error when I try to sync or open a release channel version of Firefox

"You've launched an older version of Firefox.

Using an older version of Firefox can corrupt bookmarks and browsing history already saved to an existing Firefox profile. To protect your information, create a new profile for this version of Firefox."

This error dialog offers no options for 'override'.

I need my current user profile to work across platforms and on release channel. I have customizations that I cannot recreate because FF made it too hard to find out how to recreated long-ago and necessary modifications (like killing that bleeping 'throbbing' tab slider that I cannot cope with....and others I don't even know how to describe.

I don't care about bookmarks and browsing history--I never save history and I know how to export, save, and reimport bookmarks.

I care only about my about:config, userchrome and prefs.js and the like.

How can I get around this BUG?

And: am I the only one who thinks the throbbing slider on the loading tabs is the creation of the devil? I can't avoid getting distracted by it--the visual noise is intolerable especially in a work environment.

Hello! I want to start using firefox instead of chrome, but there is a strange problem — i can't copy. Command+C doesn't work, I can do it only by right click or if I choose "copy" from "edit" in menu bar. But of course i used to command+C. Everything good with other shortcuts. What could be the problem?

After installing FF 79, we lost the ability to properly view material that require Java script. We verified that Java script was still enabled - it is. Chrome works perfectly on the same items. This situation created an unknowing error on our part, in that, trying to go back to 78.02, we ran into a compatibility issue with the profiles folder / files. Saving the profiles in 79 stamps them accordingly, and will not allow that folder to be used on 78.02. That unleashed 2 day's worth of struggle to get back to 78.02 with everything we had customized, plus our bookmarks. We found this compatibility issue very hard to crack using the FF help system, but eventually we succeeded by manually creating a "new folder", and copy / pasting all the files, deleting the compatibility.ini. We then invoked this default New Folder and got back to normal. And yes, Java-based items are working normally again. There seems to be no grumbling on the web (at least, as yet) about what we regard as a bug, but we did waste a couple of days on this, and are now carefully "Not now"-ing the update to 79 message, until more info is available and a fix is offered.

I have alot of open tabs on mobile phone and want to view - and then delete - each of the tabs on my desktop because it's massively slowing down my mobile. I am able to open on my desktop the synced tabs - although I can only open them either one-by-one, or the entire lot of 1,000 of them - but cannot seem to delete singular ones or a few tabs at a time when are no longer needed. Is there a way to delete a synced tab individually from a connected device that's NOT the device where the tab is currently open/ originally saved? Thanks!

Hmm. We’re having trouble finding that site.

We can’t connect to the server at support.mozilla.org.

If that address is correct, here are three other things you can try:

   Try again later.
   Check your network connection.
   If you are connected but behind a firewall, check that Firefox has permission to access the Web.

Sync - I cannot for the life of me figure out the parameters of operation

After hooking up four devices to sync through Firefox, I ended up with a mess and a lot of irritation which I have not recovered from. That was six months ago. What I failed to understand is that there is no control of the direction of sync. I presumed that all would sync from my primary account computer. Wrong and truly a disaster because I had spent hours organizing thousands of bookmarks. An old computer with an old bookmarks setup (very disorganized) added its confused mess back into my attempt on the new computer to finally get organized. I still have not sorted through most of the mess.

So how in the hell does Sync actually and exactly work? Is there any directional flow? Or does it just mash the shared stuff together. How can I delete any bookmark file Sync has at Firefox server with exact knowledge of what I am doing? Why is this stuff so obscure? I exactly want to know how to ensure that Sync has no cache of obsolete material and exactly, if possible, to direct the flow....should I use only share a tab? one at a time?

Firefox is displaying overly saturated colors in comparison to browsers such as Chrome and Safari. I attempted to fix this using about:config (gfx.color_management.mode = 1) and restarted Firefox, but the issue was not fixed. Please let me know how I can solve this.

i was trying to fix css problems for a website so i cleared my history from only today i reopened firefox and all my tabs and session data is gone i made some attempts to recover them but all the files id need are just gone no sessionstore.js no Recovery.js no Recovery.bak no Previous.js no upgrade.js

i didnt clear my entire history yet everything is gone why is this? is there anything else i can try?
