Firefox will not open in Safe Mode. Profile Manager will not open.
Have performed a complete uninstall/reinstall, removing both the program files\mozilla folder and the mozilla folder in %appdata% before reinstalling.
Uninstalled all security software (MS Essentials, Outpost) and attempted reinstalling with no security software installed at all.
Have installed other builds, including Minefield and Namoroka. No 32 bit builds 3.6.4 or later will open on my system. The problem does not exist with 64 bit builds.
I have reverted to 3.6.3 but do not want to be stuck on this version forever.
Would it be wise to download v3.6.3 and downgrade? (plugin-container.exe issue)

Description
Yesterday, firefox updated itself automatically. The "what's new" screen suggested that I update Flash immediately, so I did. I had a little trouble. I eventually uninstalled Flash and re-installed with the latest version, but it is now up to date. Now flash videos will not play properly in full screen. The picture will freeze for a few seconds with the audio still playing, the screen will go blank, then the video will restart from where the audio was when the screen went blank. Sometimes Flash will crash completely and I will have to reload the page to restart the video, even not full screen. Other times I get an error message that my video driver stopped working. I have checked and my video driver is up to date.

I just upgraded to Firefox version 3.6.4 and now when I got to this web page http://www.hagsplace.com/FI-How-2-Video/FI%20Service%20Kit%20Install%20Vid%20with%20audio2.html I get the error message that I need to download the newest version of Adobe Flash Player, but it worked fine before the upgrade, and when I try to do the upgrade it calls for, it says download and install complete but message to upgrade still shows up after I restart Firefox.

firefox hangs after last updates regularly, after closing down with task manger the msg "plugin container for firefox stopped working" appears. other problem after last update occurs when i open firefox - nearly always it shows the msg "Well, this is embarrassing. Firefox is having trouble recovering your windows and tabs. This is usually caused by a recently opened web page." No matter if I open firefox completely new or if I do it after closing down via task manager. (virus scan is running on a daily and detailed on a weekly basis)

This fills the top half of the page with an adsense block, removes all the menu navigation from the left side (as seen on the new google search) and kills the top menu bar as well (for image searches, etc.) How can I get around this and get back to a normal google search again?

I upgraded from Firefox 3.6.4 to 3.6.6. Before I had a chance to manually run 3.6.6, Norton Internet Security 2010 (v17.7.0.12) Insight Protection feature flagged freebl3.dll and nssdbm3.dll as not trustworthy and put them in quarantine. A manual virus scan of the Firefox folder discovered zero problems.
Norton prompted for a restart to fully "fix" the alleged problem. I uninstalled 3.6.6 (leaving personal data/settings intact), restarted, reinstalled 3.6.6, and manually invoked a Norton File Insight scan of the two dll files. Same results as immediately after the first install of 3.6.6.
I uninstalled 3.6.6, restarted, and installed 3.6.4. A manual virus scan of the Firefox 3.6.4 folder discovered zero problems. A manual Insight Protection scan of the 3.6.4 variant of the freebl3.dll and nssdbm3.dll files resulted in a trustwothy status for both.
The "problem" might, I guess, automatically fix itself, once 3.6.6 is installed by a larger number of people who use Norton Internet Security and have the Community Watch feature turned on.
Later, when I have time, maybe I'll reinstall 3.6.6 and manually "tell" Insight Protection that I trust the two "not trustworthy" dll files. I have no idea if the Community Watch feature will report that decision to Norton HQ.
No big deal, as I'm the least likely person to need the additional 30 seconds of plug-in timeout in 3.6.6.

Since updating to the most recent Firefox 3.6.4 I have noticed that it will sporadically set the windows interface to the aero basic rather than the aero glass interface I have my Windows 7 set up in (and in which Firefox itself opens). To clarify, the browser opens with the window frame as aero glass, but over the course of ten minutes or so of browsing, I will look up and notice it has reverted to basic. I have not been able to determine what happens when it shifts, or if it is a specific add-on (but I have been deleting or disabling any add-on I think might be causing it). Has anyone else experienced this? Is it a known problem? Any work arounds? Thanks!
