Hello, Firefox randomly downloaded a file, with seemingly randomly name, that is 0 bytes and in download manager the source is moz-safe-about. It happened when I was accessing a popular wiki site. I opened the file in notepad, it was empty. I put it on virus total and came back negative, as it is an empty file. I've curbed through the support tickets here, using the keyphrase 'moz-safe-about'. I understand this was/is quite a common problem, but it still makes me quite worried and left a sour taste in my mouth, as I haven't understood any of the explanations. I have enabled firefox to ask me whenever it wants to save something (I have no idea why this isnt the default state). Happened on a somewhat fresh, updated win 11 installation. I'm also attaching more information here with a picture. Long story short: should I be worried? Am I overreacting and this is just some sort of a bug that occurred while getting a sites data? a few days ago, Firefox stopped playing sounds. Any sounds. not youtube, not on Facebook. Not even porn videos. nothing. i don't remember installing any new software and Chrome plays youtrube sounds just fine. I listen on headphones and when i unjack, i still can only hear Chrome's browser play sounds. It seems like its not my comp, its the browser itself and it's only happened recently. i have yet to uninstall the browser and re-install, but i think if i use the Mozilla backup program to save my bookmarks, it will save whatever setting is causing the problem as well and re-installing will get me nowhere. anyone have any clue? i'm sure it's something simple but i cant figure it out

Hi, As far as I know, Firefox hasn't recently updated but somehow my address bar is now below the tabs. I have searched everywhere and can't find a solution. Searching shows that this has been happening repeatedly for years with people having to go as far as adding code to configure it. It has never happened to me until the change appeared randomly today. Am I missing something, or has the option completely (and pointlessly) disappeared? Please point me in the right direction to restore the position of the address bar. Thanks.

I am unable to connect to mozilla website using firefox. It works fine on other browsers, but i get an "we're having trouble finding that site" error. I am able to open other sites on firefox.

This is the message I get. "Please unblock challenges.cloudflare.com to proceed." I can do nothing.

Things I've tried. Adding exceptions in the privacy settings in 2 seperate areas. Resetting Browser deafults. Turning off all vpn's and addons.

Nothing works.

For System Administrative reasons, I want to disable automatic Firefox updates. Firefox can ask me if I want to install an update, but I get to choose whether or not to update.

i am setting up a new laptop and trying to import all my current data from my old pc. Nothing is right. It imported alll the shortcuts on my toolbar from years ago. None of these are the current bookmarks from my old pc. ive tried syncing, importing again, nothing works. my bookmarks on my side bar are years old. I dont have ANY of these on my old pc as i deleted them years ago. what the heck is happening and how do i get my new pc browser to look exactly as my old pc looks. This is very frustrating. I have over 500 bookmarks on my sidebar. it looks like every bookmark i have EVER used. This is ridiculous.

My Wife's computer - still on Windows 10 - says it can't start Firefox as it is still running, hitting the "close Firefox now" button just returns us to the same screen. I tried to uninstall and reinstall Firefox it tried to do a "reinstall" it says her profile is no longer available, while inconvenient she still should be able to start it up, but it still gives me the same message. that it is still running and needs closed. Trying to "close it doesn't do anything. I have restarted several times and even did a shut down and restart. Nothing seems to work. I assume some "stub" of Firefox is out there in the system/cache making Firefox think it is is still active but I can't find it to shut it down. Where do I need to go to "end task" on this phantom Firefox?

Other information: 1. We have Norton Security software installed, if that matters. 2. The same seems to happening to Thunderbird, but maybe I need to go to another help forum for that? 3. I am entering this issue from my computer that seems to be just fine with Firefox, so can't send browser data as it is irrelevant to the issue (it's on a different computer and install instance.

Hello all. I'd like to restore the backspace button function but the previously workable solution — resetting browser. backspace_action to 0 — is not working for me. Any hints as to why that might be the case?

I can log into preply.com with Chrome and Edge, but always have problems with Firefox. I was able to log in once, but after that, I can't log back in.

Recently I had to reinstall Windows, and saw the opportunity to try getting this to work. Installed Firefox, but *before* I logged into Mozilla Sync (so I'm working with a 100% fresh installation with no history of having Firefox installed) I tried to log into preply.com. It worked. Then, I log myself out and try to log in again, and once more, I can't log back in. I'm attaching a screenshot of what I see when I try. Please note -- I have no bookmarks, no extensions, no addons, no browser history. Everything is tabula rasa.

and followed it to the letter, meticulously, to no avail. I still can't log into the site with Firefox. Chrome and Edge, yes. Firefox no. I only have Edge because I can't uninstall it. I only have Chrome for situations like this, where Firefox doesn't work. Firefox is my main browser, and I really, really would like to figure out what's happening. I can't understand how this problem persists when the browser is freshly installed; I haven't imported one bit of data yet from my sync account.

Can someone more experienced than me please help?

I have Firefox as my browser on my laptop. Today I have been getting numerous pop-up messages from McAfee (which I do not have- I use a different web defense app) saying I need to renew my subscription or virus detected. Nothing I do gets rid of these pop-ups, which keep coming back (see example below) . How can I stop this from occurring? HELP!!

when i have any of those 2 flags set to true it opens all links i middle click from firefox-view history all the way to left since firefox-view isn't a tab. I'd rather have it force them all to the right by default instead of it thinking i am not in a tab and have no tabs open

I want to find to get rid of this or find the source of this so I can delete it.

In "about:policies" there are 2 Active Policies: "DisableTelemetry", and "DisableDefaultBrowserAgent" Also, in "about:policies" I'm not sure if it's related, but there is a long list of policies there too.

New computer (Windows 11) shows 'Old Firefox Data'. Opened hidden files. Using File Explorer found Profile Folder & renamed it 'old'. Copied and pasted 'Old Firefox Data' as new profile. Firefox would not open. Had to remove etc and Firefox worked again. Thought this maybe the easiest way to get my Bookmarks back.

PS Presume Profile Folder does not contain Thunderbird Addresses?
