Windows 10

Firefox 63

Sequence of steps to start Firefox 63:

(1) Click Mozilla Firefox icon on Taskbar.
(2) Mozilla Firefox open (see Display 1 below).
(3) Click Show history in Search Bar (see Display 2 below) and select website to visit.

The same default display (Display 1), and the same websites to visit (Display 2), are shown each time Firefox start (see Display 1 and 2 below).

To enable Firefox to show the same default display, the following settings are selected in "Open menue > Options" (see Settings 1 and 2 below).

Is it possible to create the same default display in Firefox 66 as shown in Firefox 63 screen shots below?

Prefer "Open menue > Options" in Firefox 63, which are similar/same as previous versions of Firefox for many years, and not those in Firefox 64, 65 and 66 which have changed.

Therefore, still using Firefox 63 and reluctant to update Firefox to latest version.

I am currently running Firefox Portable version 60 with lots of extensions and customized toolbars and I would like to migrate to a 64 bit installed version without losing my bookmarks, history, extensions, configurations, etc. Can I simply install Firefox 60 and copy my Firefox Portable profile folder or is there another process? Is it even possible to migrate from a portable version without losing anything?

Thank you.

Today I installed the update to FF 67 on my machine. Until now, once I clicked a link to a web page sent to me via E-Mail (I am using Thunderbird for mail), FF nicely opened that link in a new tab. But since the update to FF 67, clicking in a Thunderbird mail web link will not only open the link in a new FF window instead of a tab but, to make things worse, this new window will miss all the addons and plugins which my FF used to provide. This means, links from e-mails will open in a new FF window with no plugins available. Also missing are all other customizations such as bookmarks. The new window opened by clicking web links in e-mails seems to run on an empty profile.

I used to like how FF handles Thunderbird 's e-mail links but this new behaviour makes FF almost useless to me. I am seriously thinking about downgrading to a previous version. Unfortunately, TB 67 installed even without leaving a system restore point...

On Firefox 60/62, I am seeing a mismatch of images being used for icons shown on the tabs and those shown for saved bookmarks. So far, I am only seeing this on the MDL forums here https://forums.mydigitallife.net . I am testing this with the portable version of FF. Does anyone know what might be causing this?

FF should be using the same image seen on the tabs which reflects the favicon.ico. I don't understand why FF is using a different image for the saved bookmarks. See http://i66.tinypic.com/1fvlab.jpg If I delete the incorrect image from the favicon.sqlite db the saved bookmark icons revert back to the favicon image and there is no longer a mismatch. As soon as I select the reverted bookmark to view that web page, it gets refreshed with the other image which ends up back in the favicon.sqlite again. Why is FF picking up a different image for the bookmarks?

I would appreciate it if someone could try the portable and save some bookmarks from MDL to see if you get the same results as me.

Using Firefox Portable (call it ONE), just updated to 74. T T blinks about every 2 seconds, and the groups are not shown. Tree Style Tabs works okay, but there is no toolbar or groups on T S T. I uninstalled T T and re-installed, no change. A firefox update and a windows 10 update happened just before I noticed this, don't know if they are related.

Downloaded another portable installation file (call it it TWO), and added T T. No Blinking, and toolbar and groups are there. Any ideas on how I can make it work in ONE? All help appreciated. Thanks!
