A brand new windows 11 laptop. I've installed TB 115.9.0 (64-bit) and want to migrate a profile from another machine to this one.

When I try and do anything with the profiles (about:profiles) I can see the profiles TB thinks it has (several now after my mucking around), but in every case, if I click on the Open Folder button I get the message

C:\Users\myusername\AppData\Roaming\Thunderbird\Profiles\7654blah.Default User is unavailable. If the location is on this PC, make sure the device or drive is connected or the disk is inserted,.....

I have tried manually adding the folder it can't open into the profile directory, no change. I have tried creating new profile with the profile manager, but no folder is ever created by the application itself.

I'm out of ideas.

Had all my emails stored locally. Accidentally uninstalled Thunderbird. Reinstalled. Unable to Import my old settings from my "profile". Error message says "Unexpected error" Was able to import configuration alone, but it was all wrong. Can't set up my gmail account. Error message "Malformed server" Please help

I moved from 115.10.1 32 bit to 115.10.2 64 bit. What the hell happened to everything? No file menu standard bar, tools menu moved from top left to hidden menu drop down on top right (you should NEVER move controls from one side to the other), no way to delete all marked as junk? This is unusable.

Hi, I have had Thunderbird on my Windows 10 laptop successfully for many years. Today I added a new email account, but then Thunderbird kept losing connection. I thought I'd try uninstalling and re-installing it, but now I get the message that it can't be installed on my laptop. Anyone know how I can get round this?

My existing email provider (iiNet) here in Australia is no longer offering an email service. I have been recommended (by iiNet) to transfer to a company called 'The Messaging Company'. Already I have had an issue with the Messaging Company on account of their poor customer service. I note that Thunderbird has a Global Inbox. Does this mean that you are able to offer me an email service that will allow me to keep my current email address?: brucepitt@iinet.net.au If you are able to help, an estimate of the cost for this service would be appreciated. I have a new laptop & I've downloaded Thunderbird & logged in. It doesn't have all my old emails & folders in the new one. How do I transfer all the old emails & folders from the old laptop to the new one? Or is it a settings issue I need to go into on the old laptop to make it so they appear in the new laptop?

It looks as though installing this 115.10 ESR will be a "new Install" instead of an update.

1) Will I lose my bookmarks, settings, passwords, ect? (My bookmarks have been collecting for years....)

2) If I try this will creating a restore point return me back to the way I was before the attempt?

I have a Fastmail and 2 Cox addresses on rolled back Thunderbird 102. The Fastmail is IMap and both Cox addresses are POP 3. Cox is transitioning to Yahoo Mail, but we have kept our Cox addresses. I'm getting Yahoo mail web mail and think I should change the existing settings on Thunderbird and not create new accounts, but want to make sure. I saw something about Thunderbird and Yahoo and want to make sure I do it right or should use the third party setting for desktop clients that Cox provided for the transition. For me, the transition has not gone smoothly and I'm pretty frustrated. I am not a techie and any help in getting mail to the 2 Cox addresses landing in Thunderbird and the Fastmail continuing as is would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

I have Windows 11 and Firefox 124.0.2. Firefox keeps asking to reinstall. I think it is because I keep getting the message that it fails to check for updates. I don't know if I have installed the Microsoft Firefox or the direct Mozilla Firefox downloaded. Maybe that is the problem, but I am not tech savvy. I have used Firefox for many years and like it. I am also too old (83) to deal with these problems. Help!

About a week ago I started getting these update error messages stating "Update available - Firefox couldn't update automatically. Download the new version". I've also tried clicking "Learn more" on the error message but it's a dead link. Going into the settings for updates I am set to auto update, but when I manually check for updates it says "Failed to check for updates".

The help article on this issue simply tells you to download and manually reinstall Firefox, but I'm having to do this nearly every day. I work in IT myself so I know a "bandaid" workaround when I see one. Is there a solution to this issue?

I have Firefox 124.0.2 running on Windows 11. For some reason, I can't update Firefox. When I manually download the update file, it appears to run Ok, but the version doesn't change. If I go to settings and click on "Check for Updates" is comes back and says Failed to Check for Updates. How do I fix this?

Originally reported on April 11th /questions/1444593: I have Windows 11 and the Firefox 124.0.2 browser. I cannot update to the latest version of Firefox. I receive an error message "Failed to update". I've uninstalled and reinstalled the browser, ran the install utility selecting update, nothing seems to work. Please help

This has been going on for over a week. I have downloaded and applied the installation program multiple times (>3). The problem persists. What is going on, and how do I fix it? Thanks

I have been getting the "new version available, download now nag for over 2 weeks, and I have the latest version. Still get this issue repeatedly every day. Starting to become an every hour nag to update and install latest version of Firefox. Refuse to use Microsoft Edge or Chrome, and will switch off Firefox too if not rectified.

My Browser keeps on telling me there is an update... I've updated, reinstalled the latest version and it still keeps giving a pop-up saying there is an update...

How do I get rid of these pop-ups???

Firefox keeps reminding me that updates are available. I download and it says its installing but it doesn't seem to update. I have tried closing Firefox before running the installation but it makes no difference. I am on 125.02 at the moment.

After installing Thunderbird i had first download problems for new Firefox Versions. I tested around, installed everything new and found the solution. Somehow the Maintenance Service didn`t work properly on my machine and after deinstalling and restarting i can update firefox again. Problem remains: When trying to install Offline Languages , see picture, i get the message that it does not work. I tried everything possible, including reinstalling and deleting all old profiles (was a lot of work). Any ideas?
