I installed Firefox on Droid X using latest software OS update and Google Play to install. Browsed to a story on m.fanfiction.net and read 5 chapters. According to the OS monitor, the app used 43% of the full battery charge in this time. Using the standard browser provided on the phone, I use about 15% of the battery in the same time. What exactly is Fire fox doing while I am scrolling through a mostly text page?

Yes, you'll need to install Android tools, unless you can get access to port 6000 on the phone from your computer (e.g., via wifi).

A comparison is much less interesting and helpful than a profile or traces.

Hello again,

FYI, regarding the 30% - 35% consumption I have seen yesterday in 3 hours, I have opened the following urls at 9 AM and then don't touch my handset until 12 AM: http://mobile.clubic.com/entreprises/yahoo/actualite-715255-yahoo-rayv-specialiste-video-streaming.html http://mobile.clubic.com/windows-os/windows-9/actualite-715287-windows-9-image-menu-demarrer-fuite.html http://mobile.clubic.com/connexion-internet/fai-free-box-freebox/actualite-715291-freebox-os-3-tv-direct-et-enregistrement.html

I do agree that performing the same test with another browser won't help you but it will highlight that there is an issue with FF on these kind of sites.

Best Regards.
