The control bar (to pause, play etc) at the bottom of the video window does not appear on the TVNZ on demand website. I've tried the same site using Internet Explorer, and the bar appears as normal. Please suggest how to fix this as I prefer to use Firefox as my default browser.

Check if your installation of Flash is up to date, visit Mozilla's Plugin Check page. If it says that Flash needs to be updated, install the latest version manually.

  • Go to the Flash Player download page at Adobe.com and download the Flash installer.
  • Caution: Adobe's download page may include a checkbox for optional software (such as Google Chrome or McAfee Security Scan) that is selected by default. If you do not clear the checkbox before downloading, that software will be installed on your computer when you open the Flash installer.
  • When the download has finished, close Firefox. At the top of the Firefox window, click on the Firefox button and then select Exit
  • Open the Flash installer file you downloaded and follow the instructions.
  • Note: If you are having problems with the Flash installer from Adobe's download page, you can download the full Flash Player installer directly from Adobe.com.

Please report back if That helped ! thanks !

Does this video run a plugin or a HTML5 player, have you cleared the cache and cookies. To clear cache and cookies do the following:

  1. Go to Firefox > History > Clear recent history or (if no Firefox button is shown,) go to Tools > Clear recent history.
  2. Under "Time range to clear", select "Everything".
  3. Now, click the arrow next to Details to toggle the Details list active.
  4. From the details list, check Cache and Cookies and uncheck everything else.
  5. Now click the Clear now button.

Further information can be found in the Clear your cache, history and other personal information in Firefox article.

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance).

  • Do NOT click the Reset button on the Safe Mode start window.
