All bookmarks & history disappeared after upgrading to Ver. 22 and bookmark backup folder contains nothing from before the upgrade. Where are they?

This morning my Windows 7 installed the latest update. When I booted up again afterward, Internet Explorer (which I hate!) was my default browser and Firefox Ver. 21 said it needed to be updated to 22. I did this, and all of my browsing history and bookmarks are gone. I found my bookmark backup folder but it is empty. It's as if I never had a previous version of Firefox and am completely starting fresh. Any suggestions on how I can recover my bookmarks?

I found a solution for myself. I located my old bookmarks folder in a cloud backup program I use, and restored them from there. First time I've needed to use it. Still don't like what the Windows update did to my Firefox, Picasa and some other programs!
