How to disable a toolbar?
When I disable a toolbar it will be enabled again in a new session of Mozilla Firefox browser. I want to be able to disable a toolbar and have it remain disabled until I choose to enable it, even when I open a new session.

Which toolbar?
TelevisionFanatic and TotalRecipeSearch
I have this same issue Except my toolbar is a custom toolbar I created.
I want ti HIDDEN by default. I am using it hold all my icons that will not fit on my navigation bar as i have soo many add-ons
but i am on ffox 17/10.6x
Toolbars that have content that gets refreshed may show up automatically in some cases and you may not be able to hide them permanently.
You can also check for problems with the localstore.rdf file.
Cor-el when you say "content", what does this mean? is that like a webpage v an action the add-one is doing?
I checked mine, none appear to hve Content (web pages displayed)
i have the addons - Print - Cookies Manager - Form History Control - Firebug - Inspect Element - Adds ON Manager
Cor-el - is there a way i can put all these add-ons, in this new toolbar, off to the side on the navigation bar, just like the extra bookmarks do it?
Extra dropdown for my new toolbar -- is this possible (mimicing the bookmark dropdown)? see screenshot.
Cor-el, other 2 related questions
one add-on, "Cookies Controller", made their icons on install appear under customise (e.g. they did not put their icons automatically on teh toolbar). so i clicked "customise" toolbar and dragged their icons to the bar at the bottom. I think this bar at bottom (is called status bar)
"QUESTION"" what determines if an icon can go onto navigation bar or status bar? do i have full control or is it in the FFOX engine somewhere?
the option "Customise toolbar" is very hard for me to activate. QUESTION - is it possible to add to a button?.
I have the new customise button add-on, but i did not know what to put in the button to call the "customise toolbar" action you get to by right clicking on grey space in the navigation bar or status bar
thankyou again
Some extensions insert a toolbar at a specific position to have it displayed by default as soon as you install the extension.
You should be able to decide for yourself where to place a toolbar item, even if it is initially placed automatically at a specific position on a specific toolbar via customize mode.
thankyou Cor-el
what i have now worked out (simple when you "know") is the "ADD-ON" toolbar (the toolbar the defaults to the bottom of page and is nice and condensed)
is the answer to many of my "toolbar" related issues - not enough space on navigation bar toolbar - new toolbar i added, i can now delete it, as even without any icons it still does not stay hidden. very cheeky this new toolbar i created. it really does not want to go away....
What i have learnt (thanks to you Cor-el): - i can drag/drop icons, in "customise" toolbar mode to either the Navigation Toolbar or the Add-on Toolbar. That is wonderful!
What i cannot yet work out (only 2 things left): - making accessing "customise" toolbar EASIER for me by either putting in menu item (i have the menu editor add-on) or assign to a icon (ihave customise button add-on). I have these 2 add-ons but dont know how to access customise toolbar to assign to either menu item or new icon. - The icons on the add-on toolbar, stay EXACTLY where I put them. This is happening most of time except in 2 cases 1) When i restart ffox, they are remembering where i put them. But there is one "extended status bar" add-on that insists on being the first one. e.g. i popped it in the middle and it keeps wanting to be in first place. my workaround is make it above the add-on toolbar. 2) Location bar enhancer add-on. I move the icon to the LEFT (with all the other add-ons action types), and it insists on staying on RIGHT
thankyou again
It may help if you uninstall the program totally from your computer (not just looking at toolbar manager).I uninstalled TelevisionFanatic using this site - i guess Total Recipe Search would be similar.
