I have been a Firefox fan for a long time. I recently updated to Firefox 15... and have been having problems since then. It won't open... when I click on the FFox Icon... and gives me two error messages (see below). Sometime it will open, but will take a long time to load a page (and will show a script error message - see below).

I have un-installed and re-installed FFox 15.... the problem still exists I have uninstalled my anti-virus software I have reset my Profile thru the Profile the manager I have deleted any Profiles and my FFox preferences, etc

Greatly appreciated if someone can help me understand... why the sudden crashes/slowness.. As I am back to using IE. My systems is a x64 bit... running Windows Premium 7

When FFox does open... but is slow... I get the following message when the page does finally open (generally 2-3 mintues) A script on this page may be busy, or it may have stopped responding. You can stop the script now, or you can continue to see if the script will complete. Script: http://graphics.pop6.com/images/common/js/jquery/jquery-1.7.min.js:2

When FFox does not open... I get the following messages ... Ist Error Message Problem signature:

We're sorry to hear that your Firefox seems to be crashing when you open it. Please perform the following steps to give us a crash report ID that helps us find out more about the cause of the crash.

  1. Press the following shortcut to get a Run window: [Windows] + [R]. This should bring up a window that contains a text field.
  2. In that text field, enter %APPDATA% and press Enter. An explorer window should open.
  3. From that explorer window, double-click on the Mozilla folder, then double-click on Firefox and then on Crash reports. Double-click on submitted.
  4. Now, you should see a list of files that contain reports. Go to View > Arrange Icons by > Modified to get the most recent files at the top of the window.
  5. Open the most recent 5 files with a text editor and copy the IDs.
  6. Paste each ID into the reply window on the forums.

Thanks in advance!

You can find more information and troubleshooting steps in the Troubleshoot Firefox crashes (closing or quitting unexpectedly) article.

When i get to the Mozzila-Firefox-CrashReports folder... I do NOT see a SUBMITTED folder... I only see a PENDING folder. This folder has two types of files i.e. 'DMP' and 'EXTRA'.

When I open these two type of files with my text editor (NotePad)... i do not see anything that I can recognise as an ID.... just some machine characters.

I have attached one of the files to this post

Incase you were are asking for the files names in that folder, when you mention ID.... the file names are :

3c5fd5d2-87b6-48cd-be0a-7d0f53cca1bf ; 76472273-9503-452b-8011-2bf30e315887 ; c8e0e05a-b602-4221-9013-bd74c93801e5 ; f4deb032-e63c-49eb-9999-52ad51089c0e ; 49ca9bc6-83c9-414c-af13-93c3519a6e6c

Seems none of your crash reports have been submitted =(

Does the crash also happen in "Safe Mode"?

How does one create the crash reports...

The crash (or the extreme slowness) also happens... when I am in the FireFox Safe Mode

Sometimes... I also get a 'rundll32.exe' ... error

IE as a browser... seems to work fine... so I am using that until I get the FireFox issue fixed.

I am not a techie... but from my non-techie perspective... seems like the FFox 15 upgrade... resulted in some conflicts... or ended up corrupting my reg file.

Thanks for all the help

I did find two crash reports... with submissions. The IDS are : ID: 3463aa01-460b-4a83-ae68-3f8da2120928 ID: 6cd208e6-f538-457e-b1c6-fa3cc2120928

The last two seem to be Flash related.

Recent crashes of certain multimedia contents (this includes Youtube videos, certain flash games and other applications) in conjunction with Firefox are most probably caused by a recent Flash 11.3 update and/or a malfunctioning Real Player browser plugin.

In order to remedy the problem, please perform the steps mentioned in these Knowledge Base articles:

Flash Plugin - Keep it up to date and troubleshoot problems

Adobe Flash plugin has crashed - Prevent it from happening again

Flash 11.3 doesn't load video in Firefox
