At one time, I could partially reduce a web screen and physically pull an icon off the upper-left corner and onto my desktop. I did that with Firefox, and it remains there today, making for easy access anytime I want to get on to that website. But those days apparently are gone. Why? What do you suggest? gregorpinney@comcast.net

Hey gregorpinney,

This is actually really easy to do. All you have to do is go to the webpage that you want to bookmark. Click on the site icon to the left side of the URL and drag the icon to your desktop.

It's probably easier to see it done, so you should look at the KB article Create a desktop shortcut to a website.

Hope this helps!

Dear Matt G, Thank you for your prompt and helpful answer to my question about shortcuts to web pages. It works! Where I went wrong was that I was trying to pull off the icon at the very upper-left corner, rather than the one to the left of the URL.

I found a Firefox Help article on the subject, but I don't know if it is the one you recommended. What is the KB that you referred to?
