I have wondows 7 and it is very difficult for firefox to open. Is there anything I can do to fix this?

every time I try to open fire fox I get firefox is not resonding and I can't get it to load anything. I then close the screen out and try to open it again. most of the time it take ab out 5 to 6 times to load. today it won't load at all
