Want to read more details? Search Firefox Help with the phrase "Smooth Scrolling" and read many entries of frustrated users. Marketing for FF 4 is great, but the reality is poor. I'll go for a different browser if FF is not significantly improved soon. The last version was much easier to use. Access to features and several Add-Ons has become less easy with the new version, some are now almost unmanagable. Everything is overloaded in too few places and bars. Who said that the layout and bars of Android or IE were better than those in FF 3???

Incidentally, you should update to 3.6.17. There was a security breach at Comodo which is an SSL certificate provider recently whereby a number of fraudulent certificates were inadvertently issued. These allow a hacker to impersonate any site including online banking and the Firefox version you're running at the moment will not warn you that the site is a fake. The fraudulent certificates were blacklisted in v3.6.17 and beyond.

Experience, I agree too in regards to the Internet marketing employed with the FF4 update. Seemed to promise a lot but had many issues!

Like you I was forced to downgrade. Sorry for "venting" here, but anyway. Here's hoping for a smooth scrolling fix in FF4!

@ motionsmooth, this is not the place to vent your frustrations since its only staffed by users like yourself. Mozilla hardly ever comes here.

@ Xircal, I'm not sure if they really want to receive feedback. Your link leads to a page with the following message:

"Oh! So, you want to offer us feedback on Firefox. Thank you, but you'll need to be on the latest version. To do that, simply go to our download page and install/update to the latest version of Firefox!"

I'm definitely not going to install FF4 again to get an option to submit feedback. I went there before and found this message. That's why I decided to share my experience with Mozilla in this forum. As I understand from you it's probably the wrong place when Mozilla hardly ever comes here...

Any suggestions how to contact Mozilla without installing FF4 again?

i really liked Firefox v3. It was cool, fast, and colourful. i even got used to the odd bookmark process. However...

...Firefox v4 as bad. Firefox v5 was worse. v4 launched very slowly. v5 launched not at all.

In v5, i was getting constant warnings about a running script that began with "chrome..." Even uninstaling it was a nightmare, because there was a radio box that insisted FF was running, although it wasn't listed in the Task Manager's running processes. i couldnt find any info or support for these issues in forums or elsewhere.

Also, my yahoo security seal kept disappearing, even though cookies were enabled and the seal showed up just find when i signed in with IE8. The blue highlight in the URL via FF insisted that the site was authentic, and i viewed the certificate. (i hope it wasn't a forgery.)

Thanks, FireFox, for the good instructions on exporting bookmarks though.

It is with much regret that i part ways with mi favorito unreponsive browser. We've done a lot of websurfing together.

P.S.-->i tried to get friends to switch to Firefox in the past, but they all said that the browser was unstable and full of security holes. Ultimately, they were correct. Sigh. i write this from the drab but reliable IE8, which remained installed and at the ready for this dark day that i refused to believe would ever come.
