Malicious Key addition to FireFox Configuration; extensions.mywebsearch.openSearchURL - how do I get rid of it?

The MyWebSearch Malicious Hijacker haas added the following string to my FireFox configuration file - extensions.mywebsearch.openSearchURL - there are others and may be related to the Loaction Searchbar button being locked to the MyWebSearch search engine and has removed the ability to manage search engine add search engines etc. I have removed all traces of the MWS software, registry entries, Files, Folders, setups, etc. But I can not get this search engine out of the list not change the list in anyway. and none of the suggestion on your website have helped.
