Mozilla wants to install a helper tool and does not accept any passwords. Even my new Mozilla password. Firefox is not operating.

The best solution however is: in case some of the system permissions got set the wrong way just delete the app, download a fresh copy from www.firefox.com — and drag the app back. Your data stay untouched, just the app bundle will get a fresh kick to even out any access issues.
For most people this was just a one–time event. Hope you have success with this scenario too.
