newest update gave me Widgets how to remove

I found a way to DELETE it well not delete just hide .Stop adding stuff with out asking .

I need space on my home page, NOT a weather widget that I use my phone to get as it is easier and more convenient. OK, I know I can hide it but that leaves a large bar that just WASTES space.

OK, I have just WASTED 2 hours searching for how to remove the space wasted for widgets that I do not want. Why can I not have the Firefox I love. OK, so I hid it but that doesn't solve the problem. Now I cannot even get the widget back to see if that gives me an option to remove the Widget functionality. If you can just add rubbish to the Home page without my, and other users, agreement then I worry what else you will spring on us. Unless this situation is resolved then I am not waiting for other unwanted items being forced on your users so I will give it a month and then change my default browser. I don't want to as I like it. But I will not be controlled in what I use. Do you have another Browser you could recommend?

Above the row of widgets, on the upper right, there is another three dots '...' Click on this and select Hide. The whole row will disappear and the icons will move up to fill the space. New tabs will also hide them.

Apparently firefox is losing market share - widget popups do NOT help. I do not want to have to turn down more distracting junk every time I open my browser. How many times do I have to say NO to FIFA world cup junk? The problem is stopping the offers as well as getting rid of those that are pre-installed.
