credit card autofill is saving CVV numbers

The documentation for credit card autofill states that, as a precaution CVV numbers will not be retained. Which seems to be a reasonable precaution. However I find when using autofill, that after I have entered my system password, and autofill has displayed the card number and expiration date, that a mouse click in the CVV box will cause the CVV number to be displayed in a mouseable choice box.

Is this a bug? Or an "undocumented feature"? Or simply a matter of obsolete documentation?

I also note that, when recently logging into my local library account, which uses 14-digit account identifiers, that credit card autofill asked if I wanted to save that "payment information".

Hello, Firefox has a separate form history feature that can remember data from similarly named form fields. Here's how to remove a form history item : When filling out a form, use the down arrow to highlight the CVV entry and then press Shift+Delete.

If you want, you can control whether Firefox automatically fills in forms or not : Menu > Settings > Privacy & Security > Control Autofill.
