Firefox won't open

Recently I'm having an issue with Firefox that makes it so when I try to open it, it simply refuses to do so. Say on my desktop I double click the icon it will open for a split second and then instantly close and refuse to do anything afterwards. This is very frustrating, and I haven't yet discovered a solution and would really like to be able to use Firefox again. What is really strange is that this is a persistent problem not only on my laptop but at my pc as well which are two separate devices. If anybody can help or has experience with this problem to offer incite it would deeply be appreciated.

Does it work if you rename firefox.exe to firefox1.exe? To locate firefox.exe, go to FF menu > Help > More troubleshooting information > Application Basics > Application Binary.

If it works:

- go to https://familysafety.microsoft.com or open the Family Safety mobile app

- select the child

 - allow other browsers:
   - disable 'Filter inappropriate websites' under the Edge tab, or
   - go to Windows tab > Apps & Games > unblock FF

If you can't do anything there, try disabling the Parental Controls service (https://impulsec.com/parental-control-software/microsoft-family-safety-turn-off/#Disabling-Microsoft-Family-Safety).
