Cmd-click opens link in same tab instead of new one

This seems to happen sometimes with Firefox Developer 130.0b9 on macOS 14.6.1 —

While holding down ⌘ (cmd) key and clicking a link, such as a Google search result, the link opens in the same window, rather than a new tab. The same goes for private browser windows.

This doesn't seem to happen on all websites (such as this one), so I don't know what the conditions are for opening links in new tabs where it does or does not work. Any insights?

It looks like the https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/google-no-tracking-url/ addon might be the issue here. I'll leave this post up in case anyone else comes across the same issue.
