Yes, if you use "Clear history when Firefox closes" to clear the browsing history then this includes tabs (tabs are considered history) and you won't be able to use Restore Previous Session or retain pinned tabs. I don't know whether tab manager extensions are able to restore the session in this case, but you can give it a try and search the Add-ons (AMO) website.
