1) where is all of your Firefox backups located? 2) i just had some random places.sqlite file corruption and did i therefore lose all of my bookmarks also somehow after renaming the corrupt 'places' file? 3) does it not even backup all of the bookmarks either if it cant read/write the 'places' file normally for some time? 4) how is this kind of stuff even possible with Firefox when everything else works completely fine and normal? 5) is the .jsonlz4 file compressed to a smaller size than html somehow?

Your Firefox profile folder contains a folder bookmarkbackups which contains the last 15 backups done by the browser. You can restore any one of them using the Bookmarks Library (ctl+shft+o) > menu across the top > Import & Backup > Restore and select the backup you want. I don't know whether the files are smaller than an html file. You can test that from the same location with > Export Bookmarks to HTML.

well, someone def needs to revisit their "programming", because the only way i got my bookmarks back is that i first tried to restore some random backup from the manager menu and when the browser crashed after that and left a completely empty bookmark folder, i then imported the last html export backup that i made, which is like 3x smaller than 1 month ago, Lmao !??? it did not even have my last bookmarks in the last backup option...

so what the heck is even going on there i have no idea whatsoever

lol... at least most of the bookmarks, because the toolbar set seems to be completely missing from the file... while i didnt even have that much in there to make it 3x bigger than without the toolbar set....

and why does it not just export everything then...
