Mozilla privacy tab always opens
Whenever I open Mozilla, my homepage opens up but another tab for Mozilla privacy somethingorother opens up as well. Why is this and how can I stop that? I've asked that I not be tracked around the web when I browse... is this why? Seems a stupid issue but it just bugs me! Thanks...

Mozilla privacy somethingorother
Does this have a name? What is inside?
This is the url of the second page that opens... https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/privacy/firefox/ I believe I've set up my home page the way it is instructed in the url you gave me, FredMcD, but that damned second page always opens up!
When Mozilla sends alerts/notifications, it records that you have seen them, and should not show them to you again.
Note: Some software, like Advanced SystemCare with Surfing Protection, can protect files in the Firefox profile folder against changes. If you have such software then check the settings or uninstall this software.
Macs: Make sure you install Firefox properly and that you do not run Firefox from within the DMG (Disk Images) file. https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/how-download-and-install-firefox-mac
You can check that those pages aren't set as multiple homepages.
You can check the homepage setting.
- Settings -> Home
Firefox supports multiple homepages separated by '|' (pipe) symbols.
You can check for problems with preferences. You can delete possible user.js and numbered prefs-##.js files and rename/remove the prefs.js file to reset all prefs to the default value including prefs set via user.js and prefs that are no longer supported in current Firefox releases.
You can use the button on the "Help -> More Troubleshooting Information" (about:support) page to go to the current Firefox profile folder or use the about:profiles page (Root directory).
- Help -> More Troubleshooting Information -> Profile Folder/Directory:
Windows: Open Folder; Linux: Open Directory; Mac: Show in Finder
