Today I got a notification that wanted me to reset my profile for security reasons. I didn't know this change would require me to reset my password and that I would lose everything on my account. Is there a way to retrieve my account settings, such as bookmarks? Thanks.

I have not heard of such a warning.

Are you talking about the loss of your profile data?

Look on your desktop. Do you see a folder called; Old Firefox? Look inside. Look for the folder with the latest creation date.
