I cannot like or dislike comments on the fox news website like I used to. Not only that, it's as if I've never accessed that website before. Everytime I restart the browser I need to re-login to the windsor star website. This never happened before I can give details on how to replicate this problem. Otherwise I will drop this browser, bcause I can't get any help. Already tried all troubleshooting steps. I also disabled my internet security. I need help!! Please. None of my settings have been changed, all I did was update FF.

Does this only happen with the foxnews website or with other websites as well ?

This issue can be caused by corrupted cookies or blocked cookies.

  • check the permissions for the domain in the currently selected tab in "Tools -> Page Info -> Permissions"

If clearing cookies didn't help then it is possible that the cookies.sqlite file in the Firefox profile folder that stores the cookies got corrupted.

  • rename/remove cookies.sqlite (cookies.sqlite.old) and when present delete cookies.sqlite-shm and cookies.sqlite-wal in the Firefox profile folder with Firefox closed in case cookies.sqlite got corrupted.

You can use the button on the "Help -> More Troubleshooting Information" (about:support) page to go to the current Firefox profile folder or use the about:profiles page.

Make sure you are not blocking content.

Diagnose Firefox issues using Troubleshoot(Safe) Mode {web link}

A small dialog should appear. Click Start In Troubleshoot(Safe) Mode (not Refresh). Is the problem still there?

Your ‘logged-in’ status is stored in special cookies. If the cookie is removed, you are logged out.

You may be in Private Browsing mode or told Firefox not to remember.

Type about:preferences#privacy<enter> in the address bar. The button next to History, select Use Custom Settings.

Turn off Always Use Private Browsing Mode Turn on Remember My Browsing And Download History At the bottom of the page, turn on Clear History When Firefox Closes. At the far right, press the Settings button. Turn on ONLY Cache and Form And Search History leaving the others off.

Macs: Make sure you install Firefox properly and that you do not run Firefox from within the DMG (Disk Images) file. https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/how-download-and-install-firefox-mac

I'm definitely not in private browsing mode. I've never changed any settings between updates. What used to work before no longer works now. Thank you for trying to help. It seems like the update did something. I just can't figure out what.

Some updates have been known to change user settings. Check them.

Profile data can be removed or not recorded in several ways;

  • 1) Running Firefox in Private Mode (nothing is recorded)
  • 2) Privacy settings; (In the address bar, type about:preferences#privacy<enter>)
  • 3) Many disk cleaners and anti-virus type programs can remove data from browsers
    Open their settings and have them leave the browsers alone.
  • 4) Mal-ware.

Tried disabling anti virus/firewall no change. Looked at all my settings nothins has changed. Try to replicate this go to foxews.com pick an article scroll down to the commens section then try to give a comment a thumbs up or down. I get nothing. Also everytime I close the browser I need to re-log into my Windsor Star account. It used to retain the login info. I tried a new profile no change. Thank you for trying to help me.

It seems that youtube won't remember it's video settings, it always reverts to the lowest resolution after I close the browser, instead of the highest. The Windsor Star keeps asking me to log in after I close and restart the browser. I tried deleting all cookies didn't help. Thanks
