Firefox doesn't any longer allow me to attach a doc to an email, as it did for years before. When I click on attach, it does nothing, where it used to give choices for picture or other docs..

Are you using Yahoo? You could try and set up your account to forward to another webmail service like Tutanota which might work better.
Make sure you are not blocking content.

A small dialog should appear. Click Start In Troubleshoot(Safe) Mode (not Refresh). Is the problem still there?
