I upgraded to v89. I exited Firefox. I installed v78.11.0esr (32-bit). I lost my bookmarks and history.

Look on your desktop. Do you see a folder called; Old Firefox? Look inside. Look for the folder with the latest creation date.

Type about:profiles<enter> in the address bar.
How many profiles are listed?
How many should be there?
Also, open the profile folder in your file explorer.

If you are running Firefox 78 ESR and Firefox 89 side-by-side, you could use Sync to share your data across. Otherwise, I doubt the Firefox 89 file formats are backwards compatible all the way to Firefox 78.
