What error do you get when downloading an add-on? I assume you are trying to install from the Mozilla Add-ons site (https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/extensions/) -- it's normal to get a warning if you try to install from a different site.

Firefox Screenshot

Could you check this setting:

(1) In a new tab, type or paste about:config in the address bar and press Enter/Return. Click the button accepting the risk.

(2) In the search box in the page, type or paste screens and pause while the list is filtered

(3) If the extensions.screenshots.disabled preference is bolded and has a value of true, double-click it to restore the default value of false

Was that it?

This is what it looks like below image.png

This is what happens when I click the 3 dots near the search bar where I would use to find the screenshot feature.

As far as the add-ons go. This is the error message I receive when I try to download an add-on. image.png

Now I'm not sure what happened but all my add-ons got erased somehow. I used to have an ad block that limited ads on youtube but I've notice the ads coming back and when I checked it out I couldn't see any active add-ons. Thank you for your time. I really appreciate it.

Hmm, it's possible your installation of Firefox is damaged in some odd way. To try to rule out a settings issue could you try this:

New Profile Test

This takes about 3 minutes, plus the time to test Screenshot and new extension installation.

Inside Firefox, type or paste about:profiles in the address bar and press Enter/Return to load it.

Take a quick glance at the page and make a mental note of which Profile has this notation: This is the profile in use and it cannot be deleted. That is your current default profile.

Click the "Create a New Profile" button, then click Next. Assign a name like Feb2021, ignore the option to relocate the profile folder, and click the Finish button.

Firefox will switch your default profile to the new one, so click the Set as Default Profile button for your regular one to avoid an unwanted surprise at your next startup.

Scroll down to Feb2021 and click its Launch profile in new browser button.

Firefox should open a new window that looks like a brand new, uncustomized installation. (Your existing Firefox window(s) should not be affected.) Please ignore any tabs enticing you to connect to a Sync account to get a clean test.

Does Screenshot show on the menu? Can you install any extensions?

When you are done with the experiment, you can close the extra window without affecting your regular Firefox profile. (Feb2021 will remain available for future testing.)

So I created the new profile and open up the browser. The screen shot wasn't available and when I try to download an add-on the same error message came up.

If you type or paste about:policies and press Enter to load the internal policies page, does it show "The Enterprise Policies service is inactive." or does it mention any policies related to extensions?
