Since this morning, Firefox fails to show any pages, this includes options.

Both Chrome and IE render sites without issue.

I have attempted the following: 1) Reboot 2) refresh Firefox 3) remove and install - Without removing any profiles 4) remove firefox, delete profiles, and install

Nothing has worked.

This issue can be caused by a corrupted or incomplete Visual C++ installation that is missing runtime components (Redistributable Packages) required by Firefox and that aren't included. Visual Studio 2015, 2017 and 2019:

Some problems occur when your Internet security program was set to trust the previous version of Firefox, but no longer recognizes your updated version as trusted. Now how to fix the problem: To allow Firefox to connect to the Internet again;

  • Make sure your Internet security software is up-to-date (i.e. you are running the latest version).
  • Remove Firefox from your program's list of trusted or recognized programs. For detailed instructions, see

Start Firefox in Safe Mode {web link}

A small dialog should appear. Click Start In Safe Mode (not Refresh). Is the problem still there?

Neither of these solutions solved the issue.

Also disabled the Norton firewall temporary to see if that fixed the issue.

No this did solved the issue.

In safe mode, it seems to only display a blank page no address box.

Had to force a end task to exit.

Then it left 2 processes in the task manager. I found this because I thought I would try a reinstall(remove, install). When I did I got this message.

Let’s do a full clean re-install;

Note: Firefox comes in three or more folders on all computers. They are;

Maintenance: (Programs Folder) <Windows Only> Firefox itself: (Programs Folder) And two folders in the profile of each user on the computer for each Firefox profile for that user.

If you remove the Firefox folder, the user profiles would not be affected.
