The programm "Firefox.app" cannot be opened - after updating to Firefox 84 on macOS Catalina

I updated to Firefox 84 on my macOS Catalina 10.15.7 system. At the end of the update process to Firefox 84, when Firefox restarted, a pop-up appeared that some files where suspected to be ransomware. I choose some "quarantine" button, but then the restart stopped and macOS showed a notification "The program "Firefox.app" cannot be opened" (My translation from german).

This message appears if I try to start Firefox from Finder or from Dock. Launching Firefox from the Profile Manager (via Terminal) works. Firefox is executed with my profile.

The following actions I took were not helpful: - Re-installing the Firefox-App and my profile from a Time Machine backup - Un-installing and re-installing Firefox from the Mozilla site. - Starting Firefox with a freshly created profile - Re-installing Catalina from macOS recovery mode

In the system preferences' security tab Firefox is not considered as beeing harmful.

I'd be very grateful for some hints where to look for further actions. Thanks, Ingo
