"Firefox Color" extension cannot be imported
Installed "Firefox Color" from Mozilla, selected a predefined theme, made some changes and saved it for backup. After refreshing Firefox, I tried opening this .xpi file but Firefox rejects it as being corrupt. I tried this process several times. What am I doing wrong?

If you did export the modified theme then you will have to get the extension signed to make it work properly.
You can test the XPI file via the about:debugging page.

Extensions XPI files are signed for protection, so if you modified the XPI file then you have invalided this signing.
Does the "Firefox Color" extension allow to backup its data ?
Yes to the backup. That's the major premise of the extension. It offers output to a zipped source code file, or an .xpi file. Either import option, "Open file" or "Install Addon from file" tells me that it's corrupt. This seemed to be an option to back up my changes, but it's not serious. Looked at the documentation, perhaps I missed something? I tried this in both Windows 10 and Linux Mint Cinnamon 20 and the results are the same.

I have this problem too, I'm trying to self-sign my addon but once I upload it and it's verified I don't get the option to download a signed addon or anything, trying with my local file still says it's corrupt, I'm at a loss as to what to do, I just want to save the theme I've made with firefox color.
